They are all quiet - only got the EVGA to 4,000 plus using Precision, didn't mess about with the other two. The EVGA doesn't even hit 50 percent when stressed.

Well there is no compression on the OS drive at all (as I suspected). Re-install *** I guess.:(

In my horror wasn't thinking straight. Guess if I attach the OS drive to another PC, check no files are blue then try to reboot from it is the sensible way to go. Fingers crossed and thanks for bringing me back to reality.:D:D
