Well that was a rollercoaster. Typically April 8th was cloudy, the 7th and 9th were clear. We ended up in Kerrville which was patchy cloud during partial and then a little while before totallity the cloud just got thicker and thicker. We kept getting glimpses but it wasn't looking good then...
We are doing our first cruise the last couple of weeks of August with the children. P&O Iona and the Norweigien Fjords, that destination is one of the only ones I would have considered for a cruise. Looking forward to see if it is great or my worst nightmare :D.
We did Florida with a 8 and 11 year old last 2 weeks of August last year in a private villa. Heat was bare able (just about) as there is so much a/c everywhere. We did do the majority of our time in parks though. Everything including park passes and expenses came in at under 10k.
Snapish.
I will be in Texas for it with my Sony RX10 III
I have been reading various sites about doing photos but the number 1 thing just seems to be practice, using the moon is a good idea of settings needed for totality apparently. I am a little nervous about it as I am not as familiar with...
Google Maps generally when I have data but I also own Sygic which I used for US road trips when in the desert with no signal. It has some nice planning features where you can program routes in a Web app and sync them but that is a premium feature.
I didn't dismiss it lightly, I have done some (lots) of research, but generally Cities don't exicite me too much I like being out seeing the awesome landscapes and the opportunity to get to some of the more out of the way National Parks is good one. Big Bend was a potential but we decided to do...
Been flip flopping on going to the USA for the Total Eclipse in April. I planned to do it well over 10 years ago but life happened. Texas on it's own didn't excite me that much after having done a number of 2 week road trips over there with many more scenic locations.
Whilst I was looking for...
I have something like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/faithfull-angle-measurer/384rk
It's really helped, I had some non 45 degree corners to cut and the join is perfect, I also started not cutting internal corners as mitres and used the coping approach (but using a Dremel sander instead) that...
I have the deeds with the boundary marking, I know roughly how far the boundary is from back of the house, but with the scale and the size of the lines the error margin is probably a meter or so. It is our boundary to maintain.
Privicy is ok as we are higher than the surrounding houses that look towards the fence. I agree with point 2 though, but not sure of the worst outcome from that really?
Hi Everyone,
So the council decided last week to cut back the 6ft high wall of brambles from behind our garden. I knew that the current position of our fence was behind some older fence posts but until they cleared it I hadn't appreciated quite how much.
I was going to take the opportunity...
