    Seriously miffed at Sapphire/AMD

:D Its nice to see you all taking this seriously ... I pretty much thought any card from the same family would work - Putting a second card in will reduce air flow and increase heat, so I will try and stick with a second Vapor-X as its running nice n' cool atm. Merry Christmas... even...

    Seriously miffed at Sapphire/AMD

Last year I bought a fairly high spec duel GFX capable mobo rig... and bought a Sapphire Vapor-X 7950 - so that when I wanted to upgrade and buy more monitors to give me an eyefinity gaming rig, I could buy another matching GFX card and upgrade. :o Oh, how wrong was I? My perfect solution...

Thinking of upgrading to 3xDell U2412M

Eulogy - I'm currently gaming at 1920x1200, on my Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X. I was looking for a more immersive experience so my choice is; Eyefinity, which has the 'bezel issue' - but I drive a car and see the world at high speed with the pillars either side of the windscreen without it...

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X- 3 GB - crossfire dilema

I've been looking around ...thinking about dropping the complication of crossfire on 3xU2412M's in eyefinity and just changing my current monitor to a 2560 x 1080 Dell UltraSharp U2913WM on the existing GPU.

Thinking of upgrading to 3xDell U2412M

...or should I avoid the eyefinity 'bezel issue' and get a Dell UltraSharp U2913WM 29" Super-Widescreen LED Monitor instead? Cos the 7950 should support 2560 x 1080 without breaking sweat!

Thinking of upgrading to 3xDell U2412M

I have 1xDell U2412M and its running from a Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X; mobo (AsRock Z77 Extreme4) is crossfire (x8x8) capable. Monitor is fab and not giving me any gaming issues - but it also does a lot of admin too and was bought because I wanted portrait as well as horizontal viewing angles...

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X- 3 GB - crossfire dilema

From what little info I have picked up, crossfire should work if you mix and match GPU setup (performance being dictated by the lowest specification - there is a table of which generation cards will interact in crossfire) but its stable/best achieved if the GPU's and bios are matched... hence...

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X- 3 GB - crossfire dilema

I built up a gaming rig around the start of the year, its not a bad little gaming rig with an SSD boot drive and lots of ram with the 7950 Vapor-X. Its sat in a slot on my AsRock Z77 Extreme 4 (With an i5 3570k) and powering a Dell UltraSharp U2412M. I certainly couldn't see the point of going...

    7950's on 7970 PCB

I have the Sapphire VX - Leave the bios button alone (850/1250) and it will clock and MSI afterburner will adjust the VDDC - If you press the bios button to 950/1250 it will lock the voltage and clock very poorly... Mine is currently 1170/1500 with 1140mV but its a bit toasty at 69Deg on a long run.

    Sapphire 7950 VX

    Sapphire 7950 VX

I've pushed the SappireVX tonight... bench on HeavenDX11 as before; VDDC 1140mv @ 1170/1500 gives a stable HeavenDX11 bench of 72.9/1839 at 1920x1200 with 4XAA, normal teselation but the fan noise is growing and I'm hitting 70 deg - Rig has been on for several hours with a restart on GPU-z...

are the 7950 better than the 7870

    Sapphire 7950 VX

As I come from a Skt 939 setup with a pair of 9600GSOxxx SLI my new rig rocks... but the Sapphire VX was a last minute switch 'up', as stock vanished on the Sapphire 7950 OC which I had spent a few hours (or maybe a week or two) researching. All I can say is that the VX is not living up to...

    Sapphire 7950 VX

I'm not sure I want to be doing that just yet, having spent the cash on a 7950... and a Z77 Extreme 4, I5 3750k, Custom cooler, 16Gb Ram, 120Gb SSD, 1Tb WD Black, Haf 912+ and a nice set of case fans  ....cos I can't afford anything else in the next few months if I screw it up :p

    Sapphire 7950 VX

I have had some success with the 850/1250 bios setting and MSI Afterburner. I bench Heaven (3.0) DX11 @1920x1200, 4xAA, Anistropy 4x and Teselation;normal Stock the 7950 gives 56.7fps/1429 As soon as I press the 950/1250 bios setting then the voltage seems to lock and even a mild OC of...

    7950 Vapor X 1440p Benches

Plenty of go juice :) 550W Fatal1ty Power Supply with an additional 250W Thermaltake Power Express SLI Certified PSU - The VapourX was connected with a 8 Pin to the main PSU and the 6 Pin to the Thermaltake, but after having poor results, I've connected both to the Fatal1ty with similar results...
