    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

This is super pretty! What did you manage to pack in there? (Damn suddenly I'm feel like my Fractal North in white is big and clunky )

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

1.19 I think, so far at 6200 c30. Asus X670E-A and G.skill ripjaws. This board+memory pairing has been really quite solid, despite technically being an XMP ram kit.

    XMP vs EXPO vs ??

I actually have the Ripjaws version of these which has XMP rather than Expo. Works fine in my Asus X670E-A with 7800X3D :) It does default to 4800, as will everything, but there are several profiles listed as "DOCP" to pick from. They don't have descriptions as to how they differ, so I just...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

I guess about 7% performance in applications that can't use the cache... Honestly, I can't tell +/- 7% without pulling up some metrics. But my 7800X3D is magnificently frugal under normal loads. It is rare that the fans raise above audible levels. Never had such a quiet pc before, and I have...

    Future proofing - PCIE5 or AM5 Socket?

Tbh, I wouldn't see a reason to expect they'll be any cheaper than the current 6-series :/ Does look like the cheapest B650E boards are in the region of £250 now, if you spot them on offer. It's still too damn much for a midrange board with no frills, but they do at least solve your problem and...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

1.35 will likely be absolutely fine but there's no reason to worry about 1.4. Totally sensible to manually align it with VDDR if auto is getting it wrong though :)

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Researched this a while back during the vsoc debacle. VDDIO is intended to be the same as your memory voltage. Mine seems to be 1.35 with 1.4v memory and has no issues, but there's no reason to worry if you're in that standard operating range. Some people reported problems when trying to lower...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Perhaps a silly question, but have any of the big/trusted review sites done any re-runs of Ryzen 7000s when loaded with the fastest memory that now works? We knew they were quite memory sensitive to memory speed from day one (hence the massive debacle when board partners tried to claim EXPO was...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Liking the new agesa update for the Asus X670E-A! Taken a solid minute off my boot times now that it's not fannying about with memory training every time. So far I've nudged my G.Skill 2x32 6000c30 up to 6200c30 with several days and no sign of instability. Wondering whether I can tweak this...

New PC, Win 11 jerky/stuttery, games+benchmarks all good

That's interesting to know! I made sure I got the 1.3vcore fix installed as soon as it was available, but I haven't checked for a new one since. Awkwardly, I cannot today... I rebooted (vs my usual overnight hibernate) and the issue has gone away. For now. Confused. I have noticed that idle...

New PC, Win 11 jerky/stuttery, games+benchmarks all good

I'll give it a go, cheers. Although I have also found some redditors complaining about lagginess in 22H2 regarding windows explorer and task manager. The latter being the thing I forgot to mention but which is definitely very laggy as well :( Maybe I will be lucky and 23H2 will finally do...

New PC, Win 11 jerky/stuttery, games+benchmarks all good

1 HDMI, 3 DP. This GPU used to be paired with an 8700K where it ran Win 10 with the same screens absolutely fine. I am running Afterburner, actually. Found I could take a solid 80mv off my GPU's defaults without it ever becoming unstable, saves a ton of heat and noise :)

New PC, Win 11 jerky/stuttery, games+benchmarks all good

Same issue with 1 monitor, sadly. Haven't checked refresh rate... will do so when I get home. All my screens are simple 60hz models though, I'd notice in gaming if they were doing less :)

New PC, Win 11 jerky/stuttery, games+benchmarks all good

Hey folks, Weird and minor annoyance; my new 7800X3D build is performing like a champ in games, but dragging a window around the desktop, especially between monitors, is a clunky experience that takes a second or so longer than it should and judders all the way. All drivers are up to date...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Noticed this myself while stress testing. Nothing heats it up like Cinebench - not Prime95, not Linpack. CB is the only thing that hits thermal throttle.

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

This is true, I just felt like being very safe. Also I'd never had reason to do a bios flashback without a cpu before and just wanted to see it work

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

What I did was use the bios flashback button to update to a safe version before even putting the CPU in my Asus X670E-A. At default DOCP/XMP settings, it set the SoC to ~1.27v. Which is obviously within the 1.3v tolerance, but experimentation with my 2x32 6000c30 suggests it's still stable...

Fractal North, case of the year contender

Bearing in mind a lot of people waited literal months to get one... be careful if the store doesn't immediately have stock!

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

It really is! I have never had the chance to do a "whole" build before that didn't need essential parts from the previous PC (usually they have Trigger's Broom syndrome), and it has been so nice to not care that I'm running stress tests for actual days to figure out the optimal settings

Fractal North, case of the year contender

No... it is probably "wrong". But I sort of like it? It's like a go-faster stripe... I'm not sure whether I'd want to return it or not :D
