Anyone else think the current Telegraph front page is flying as close to the wind as they legally can ?
Personally I think it sets a dangerous precedent.
My prediction (FWIW) is that ALL future iphone releases, from this point on, will be USB C ... even budget ones (the cheaper ones being USB 2.0 speeds). The reasoning is simple ... the EU directive needs to be obeyed irrespective of product release date and Apple needs depth of SKUs at...
oddly my windows 10 box stoppped recognising my iphone. It was using the version in the Microsoft store, and followed by about 4 mandatory patch cycles so at some time got messed up.
on investigation, it was clear that the Apple usb driver was missing….instead some generic windows driver...
It is pretty poor that the base "pro" still has only 8Gb RAM. I can just about live with a 256Gb SSD but do need to splurge +£200 for the RAM.
BTW... US prices start at $1199. So the old £ for $ model seems to be shifting...
Air looks nice in Midnight.
My preferred spec of Air with...
It seems likely that over the next 3-5 years, we are about to unwind decades of growth in standards of living. Hopefully not back to 1960's or 1970's levels but we are now in somewhat uncharted territory, so it would not surprise me if we went back to a time when many things were taken for...
I prefer Apple as the retailer and will pay more for that. Apple UK are then the retailer in case of any warranty quibbles downstream. FWIW: I have noticed Amazon CS being a lot less helpful in recent interactions with them - they used to be amazing. But not sure that I would want to...
Just ordered one direct from Apple as an X-mas present. Delivery 7th-14th Dec. Funny it seems just the base model - probably because of price. It is a bargain (in Apple terms).
Please... can we all agree to not post ANY more pictures of delivered consoles... in recognition of those of us caught up in the Amazon fulfillment mess.
It is not much to ask, under the circumstances... :D
I am hoping that Amazon actually have allocated stock to pre-orders and that they haven't just run out of warehouse stock... with a shed load of pre-orders still to fulfill.
Given the widespread reports of the delay emails... it doesn't look good.
EDIT: Mine still has not dispatched.
There will be a (qualcomm) licensing cost for the 5Gmm wave modem. Even if it is the same chip inside, Apple probably don't need to pay the license if it is unusable (not wired to an antenna). So my guess is cost savings... that unfortunately don't get passed on.
Re Stock.... I think the thing we need to remember is that you are probably buying a console which has not been made yet.
The exact number of available consoles on release day is an educated guess...subject to yields, a whole load of component supply chains and any changes that Microsoft...
Nah... I think that one will sell gangbusters. Especially for X-mas. Might be that there is some CPU binning going on though if they have yield problems - limiting the supply of Series X.
