This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

This makes a lot of sense as it does not penalise low energy users and incentivises people generally to use less energy. Just need to make sure assistance is given to those who most need it as well, as well as long term investments in general at a national level. Also remove the standing charge...

    Dover Ferry Queues

I wouldn’t be concerned about the ability to build extra capacity for land transit, a little pain while the works take place and then the extra capacity is available For freight and non commercial traffic. The bigger question is why was it not done since various EU countries invested heavily for...

    Dover Ferry Queues

It seems until now the pandemic and its lingering effects to a degree have hidden the reality of the new operating conditions of Dover and other UK ports. The other side is the reporting that Dover asked the government for £33,000,000 to invest in capacity to alleviate the problems and was given...

    Dover Ferry Queues

What this shows is how inefficient and lacking in resilience the Dover crossing has become compared to the past. Seeing as it is critical for UK trade you would have thought someone would have made plans to deal with this known problem due to the coming changes years ago. Previously when working...

    internet availability

A lot depends on what is there currently. New housing estates have all the conduits in place ready normally. Much older densely packed urban areas are unlikely to and have a random maze of stuff under the ground to contend with as well. Villages would tend to fair better as there is often little...

    Struggling to eat enough...

Having been a similar size and height in my twenties when very fit best just to enjoy it and not fixate on weight gain. At that age I ate phenomenal amounts of food and put on little or no weight at all, but had no aim to gain any weight either. Being healthy is far more important for me.

    iPad Pro 12.9 purchase advice

The 12.9 iPads are a little fragile if you read up on them, just something to bear in mind. Mine is a gen 3 and works really well with the bigger screen for browsing, reading or watching films etc. It seems big at first but quickly got used to and I have no issues with its weight.

Does something need to be done about dogs?

Only responsible owners will register. Illegal breeders and other owners won’t care.

    Is Apple News worth it?

The FT are currently doing their standard subscription for half price at £159 per year, may be worth giving them a ring. A lot cheaper than their full at £55 a month.

    Healthy eating

Avoiding processed food and ready meals is helpful as they usually have high levels of salt and other unhealthy substances. If you are able to prepare food from fresh ingredients you know exactly what is going into it. Junk food again is similar.

    Best gaming memories

Counter strike when it first came out on line with a 56k modem. Almost everyone online was good laugh and very positive, in comparison to the angst now from the numerous perpetual teenagers on line now.

Any recommendations for good 2 player co-op?

Slightly different, once you get going the division is good for two player CO-OP. Borderlands 2 is also good.

Kitchen Aid Mixer - Worth it?

This is not going to help but they are very solid bits of kit and worth it if you will get the use out of one. A bit like having good knife sharpener, once you get one they make sense.

Upgrading Ryzen 5 1600 - can I keep my motherboard?

I went from a 1700 to a 3800xt which as a useful improvement especially with 2 cores boosting to 4.7 for older games which rely more on a few cores. Also all core went from 3.8 on the 1700 to about 4.4 if high CPU usage on air cooling.

    Low GPU Usage RTX3070ti

Check what individual cores are boosting to on the CPU. The 3600 should have at least one core boosting to approaching 4.2 with the rest not too far behind. Have you got any kind of eco mode / power saving enabled anywhere ?

Where do you get your Sunday roast from?

A chicken from a decent butcher roasted properly for me tastes a lot better than the cheap supermarket chickens. It just depends if you can tell the difference and if it is worth the extra to you. Find the same with beef as well. A battery powered cooking thermometer is very helpful for telling...
