As predicted, the advice from GPO is incorrect. Stripped one end of an rca, isolated positive and negative, hooked them up to the speaker clip terminals on the speaker and got zero output.

Thanks for the advice guys. Contacted GPO and the RCA outputs are powered! They advised they should work with unpowered hifi speakers. So next question I how do I connect RCA to speaker cable terminals. Is there a one lead solution?

Fitted the newer light up auto shift to my e92, due to its "verticalness" it looks great in park, but in drive, its sent into an acute angle and so you can't really see the light up goodness. Don;t know if I'll keep it on or not, I suppose its more interesting than the standard shifter. I guess...

Oh yeah there does seem to be extreme variation in prices. I just missed out on a 61 plate 335i comparible spec at another dealer which was £19995 but I think a 330 will do me fine!
