    SolaX - Inverter/Battery/Accessory Discussion

Yes. Go into settings, you enable charge from grid, and you set the times you want to allow that. Eg mine is set to yes and with charge period of 0:30-4:29 to align with go I then have discharge set from 4:30 -0:29

Do you charge your children "keep" or rent? Do/did you pay it yourself?

Mine charged me 20% of my take home as encouragement to move out. I did that for around 2 years before moving out into a house with my first serious girlfriend. To be fair what I earned I was probably only realistically covering my food etc. Maybe they made a small amount of "profit"

    Mortgage Rate Rises

This ^^^^ Its all about scale and personal tax positions. As said regular savers for a good percentage of the population are great for the short term savings, that doesn't stop other investments either then, or later. It remains (and never will change) that the advice is to merge the list of...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Again to clarify. If you were doing multiple years and building up funds that meant you could not invest them in regular savings you would put the excess in the next highest earning account/bond. You don't have a choice of 1 here, you have multiple opportunities available so you select the...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

You wouldn't put them in a 4% instant saver though, you would either put them back into a regular saver (more than one is available), or like I said you could just use your higher amount to buy bonds then. Simply as someone said you cannot compare fixed term with flexible term as its basically...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

This is the advice generally in order to calculate the correct interest and why people get confused and think the rate is only half. You can do exactly the same calculation by adjusting the capital. Eg you pay in £100 a month Interest after a year at 7% = 7% x 1200 x 0.5 which can be abbreviated...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Oh for gods sake. What you would actually do if you went into a longer timeframe is apply the same logic you do all along. You maximise the amount you can put into the highest rate. So if you rolled into further periods you would, assuming all the rates stayed the same, 1) maximise regular...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Its not semantics at all. I told you above, its 54% of the regular saver interest and 46% of the alternate, which is because the regular saver starts the day you pay in, that amount sits there for 12 months, the next payment 11 months etc. The alternate account has 11/12ths for 1 month...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Your making the mistake of halving the regular savers rate again, the rate is the rate. The interest gained is roughly half of the headline amount x the maximum capital invested, it is in fact 54%, but thats because in effect only 54% of the capital is invested in the regular saver. Take 54% of...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Its really simple if you understand maths and logic. Its because the mortgage debt and even the length of term are irrelevant. Its only the marginal payment or saving that is affected. Both will compound based on the same capital amount.

    Mortgage Rate Rises

The rate is the rate what your doing is the common mistake for people who do not understand With a regular saver the rate is correct, you halve the amount saved (broadly its more like 55%), ie in this case around 7% on £6k The other £6k is in effect able to be invested elsewhere, say at 4% in...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Its simple The highest rate (after tax if applicable) wins. If you can save at a higher rate than paying off the mortgage then thats better. With one consideration, if you are capped in regards repayments then depending how much your talking about you may end up having been better off by...

Yeah I guess. They did make quite a lot from us in the early sessions so I guessed they figured they had plenty spare to keep us in. Last year they gave away bonus points at the end so guess they probably wont this year as they may already have used up most of the "pot"
