Theme park rides which you found too excruciating to enjoy

Mission: Space at Epcot in Orlando was the worst I've felt on any ride in my life. It was probably the closest I've come to throwing up when that centrifuge started doing it's thing and ramped up the Gs. If we're talking favourites then for me it's the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood.

    LG 42-inch OLED

Cheers mate. Spoke to JL today and they're going to replace it with a new one on Thursday week, first time I've used JL customer service and probably one of the best support experiences I've had. Took all of about 2 minutes and the order was in the system for the replacement.

    LG 42-inch OLED

Sorry should've clarified, I don't have it connected up to the PC yet. Using it in the lounge for the time being connected up to SkyQ and a 4K Blu-Ray player.

    LG 42-inch OLED

I think I may have an issue with mine, it was fine yesterday but today it's randomly switching off after just a few minutes and then won't turn back on from either the remote or the TV for a random amount of time (the screen flickers as well just before it turns off). I've tried factory...

    Holidays 2022

We finally managed to have our 2-year delayed trip to the US a few weeks ago, the Covid LFT you have to take a day before flying was a little nerve wracking but we got the all clear and flew out to LAX from Heathrow via Virgin Atlantic the following morning. Spent 6 days in California (in...

    How old is your smartphone?

I'm still running my Pixel 3 (bought in November 2018), battery isn't great now though so looking to upgrade but finding a phone of a similar size hasn't left me with many options. The only two possibilities I can come up with to replace it is the S22 or an iPhone 13 Pro, I'd love to stay on...

9 pin joystick to usb adapter

I have a couple of the Daemonbite usb/commodore adaptors and they are excellent and add minimal lag. You can build them yourself using the instructions on his github or find a seller that has them pre-built. I bought mine direct from the creator but they have been out of stock for quite a long...

Any memories of the old shops we used to visit?

Indeed there was, it was located on the top floor of what is now known as the Victoria Shopping Centre (we just called it the Precinct back in the day). I can't seem to find any pictures of the old shop but I recall it having a yellow theme inside.

What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

As Bakes0310 said you can get the 'Enhanced Editions' on Steam or Good Old Games. Also highly recommend following the user 'Davaeorn' on Twitch, he streams no reload playthroughs with insane difficulty levels/mods installed.

Cyrix Instead Build (Period Correct ~1997) Dos/Win95

Nice, my first ever PC I bought from was a PC supplier called Panrix and it used the same CPU. Served me well for the time, if I remember correctly it was the Labs Winner for one of the PC roundups in my copy of PC Pro at the time and cost me in total around £1K.

So, fibre cable laid to door, what happens next?

The product is currently exclusive to Vodafone and is called Gigafast, it took around 6-7 months for my address to go live on the Vodafone Gigafast website. They finished around christmas 2019 and I've got the install booked for this coming Friday although some people in my area have been able...

    Music Library Software

MusicBee and MediaMonkey are a couple of others you could check out. Both will allow you to import your iTunes library but you need to enable the option in iTunes to share the iTunes library first so that it creates the XML file that they need to do the import.

    Hearing loss and soundbar.

Might be worth getting the hearing aid checked out, I believe they've improved massively in the last few years so perhaps it's worth looking into upgrading his current ones? https://www.widex.co.uk/en-gb/hearing-aids/beyond-iphone-hearing-aids Have a watch of this video as well

Does anyone remember petrol stations selling computer games?

That's what came to my mind as well, the good old Esso Collection Tiger Tokens (still available on eBay to buy right now). You got one token for every £6 spent on fuel and for anything half decent you would've had to spent about £3000+ on fuel. A bog standard Braun electric toothbrush was...
