Appreciate the advise guys, motherboard i though comments would come back regarding price/overkill. Heard so much good about the Tomahawk B450 board.
Surprised people are recommending air coolers over AIO though, the tech must have changed since my last build, AIO surely although may not be a...
Hello all
A friend has asked me to assist him spec up a build, tower only for a driving sim. I've come up with the below and wouldn't mind a quick sense check before he goes ahead with the purchase.
I understand we are due some new releases in terms of MB, CPU and GPU but he's happy not...
Thanks for the advice, I've got an itch to upgrade but I blame it on boredom and the fact I haven't done it for a few years. I want to enjoy some more modern titles at higher rates making the most of my monitor. But this does make me think about waiting, It's whether its really worth the wait...
Hi guys
Well, i think like a lot of others this time stuck at home is proving boring and potentially expensive.
My current rig is
i7 6700k
MSI 980ti 6GB
16gb DDR4
Although this is still a fairly competent system id like some more punch especially now im gaming at 3440 x 1440. I would like to...
Joined the 30 club in April :( and had a baby in August so currently hardly get any time.
Shame really as I was really getting into WoW just before as a first time player!!
Now it’s just a blast on BF1 or Assetto Corsa and that’s all at the moment.
Didn't say the results were disappointing, I agree they are impressive and would be a great upgrade from my 980ti but I may as well go for a 1080ti which looks similar in terms of performance and much cheaper.
And thats whats so appealing about the 2080ti, its a fairly big upgrade from a 980ti in terms of performance. But in terms of performance per ££ the 1080ti wins.
Its awesome, I play Assetto Corsa with a steering wheel as well which it comes into its own. Second best upgrade for me following the HDD to SSD upgrade back in the day.
1080ti is the sensible option isn't it. But if I'm upgrading then Im tempted to waste more money than a need to go 2080ti.
Such a shame the 2080 is so disappointing.
For me I want to play the new COD which when i played the beta over the weekend it struggled to achieve 50fps on ultra settings. Also the new Tom Clancy Division when that arrives. Currently playing BF1 mainly.
I want more from my 3440 x 1440 UW than what my 980ti gives me but not sure whether to go 1080ti or 2080ti. 2080 was an option until the benchmarks were release.
Mine arrived yesterday after only 4 days from ordering including a weekend!!
Over the moon with the quality. Such an immersive experience, takes a while for my eyes to get used to the curved screen but has transformed gaming for me.
MSI 980ti without an overclocked will manage BF1 on...
Guys, I'm going to go for this deal. My only worry is my 980ti. Has anyone experienced this monitor with one? I understand ultra settings might not be possible but hope high settings will be ok?
Thanks
Matt
