    NHS=Negligent Health Service

    win win in the short term. This is where the NHS is going - more and more referrals to private hospitals "under the NHS", less income for actual NHS hospitals therefore higher waiting lists, even more private referrals etc etc until it all implodes. Enjoy it while it lasts.

    Post Your Garden!

    Thanks, all valid concerns. Back fence, we'd be happy with fence height, perhaps a foot higher. Nothing significant to restrict sun, more just to border the garden and provide something for wildlife/birds. Will quite happily keep it very in check. Re west planters, we picked things that...

    Post Your Garden!

    Thanks. Plastic grass isn't for us. That was a wisteria, had great growth in it's first year last year, however I wonder if the wet soil has killed it, can't see any buds on it this year :( Wife wants to pull it up, I want to give it another few weeks. I actually tacked some wire onto the side...

    Crohns / ulcerative colitis sufferers

    It's because the NHS has a very finite amount of resources. It would bankrupt itself in a year if anyone and everyone got very costy drugs without proper consideration, avoiding that also includes trying 'cheaper' (but often effective) drugs.

    Infliximab is a lot more available these days. Off-patent therefore biosimilars are available. Only about £400 a syringe instead of the £2-3k a few years ago!

    Euthanasia need to be considered in UK?

    They don't inject "large" amounts of morphine. They subcutaneously administer a calculated dose that is a measured amount to remove pain. If there is agitation, then midazolam is used. A syringe driver does not hasten death. It reduces symptoms. Administering an amount that would cause...

    Euthanasia need to be considered in UK?

    I am sure they didn't deliberately overdose. There may have been an 'extra' dose. But not an overdose.

    Euthanasia need to be considered in UK?

    A prescribed syringe driver with morpine doesn't speed up the process.

    Basic electronics question

    Hello all, Wanting a very based solar setup for the shed. Usage will be minimal - LED light, and option of USB charging. Would something like this do the job? https://a.aliexpress.com/_EytOrXn attached to https://a.aliexpress.com/_EzDejjJ Would this charge a battery even with the low...

    NHS=Negligent Health Service

    Realistically no. The 'simple' stuff (tonsillitis, respiratory infections, ear infections, MSK issues) are now seen by nurse practitioners, physios, pharmacists, PAs. The stuff that is left is the complex things that need much longer than a 10 minute appointment. And wouldn't fit nicely into a...
