So instead of going with a open source £130 router you opted for a £600 closed device that farms your data and has known speed problems.

As you can see the eero 7 has worse range than the devices they released 6 years ago...
If you read the reviews on ispreview by people that actually have Zen that's when it got really bad. It may have been bad prior to CityFibre assimilation but that was when there became not much difference between Zen and a more mainstream ISP.
One thing I hope doesn't happen is most people attribute Zen's downfall to taking on Cityfibre connections so support took a tumble. Obviously the workload for Aquiss isn't going to double based on the footprint City Fibre have compared to Openreach but still hope it stays good.
Pretty interesting. I don't know what they are doing with the 160 package though it's £38. For £4 more you get about 800 Mbps extra. The 160 should be £35 max.
I can never win with broadband I swear. So after some support rep last month told me it might be 2025 I was like ok I'll just go Openreach. I decided to check bidb yesterday one last time just to see and... YouFibre is now planned and my address got updated on Netomnia to "Coming Soon".

The more I look into it people are just annoyed that their iPhone can't get more than 100 Mbps on 2.4 Ghz... like why does your phone need 100 Mbps to start with? Every other device performs as expected such as Intel Wifi cards. It does appear like the latest vanilla OpenWRT snapshots have even...
Mostly all of the ISP provided routers are bad so it's advised to change. You can get some really good OpenWRT compatible routers for like £40 these days though.
Unfortunately just seems to be one of the problems with Virgin Media. I do think it's much better if Nexfibre have rolled out in your area (they wholesale to Virgin Media) but yes Openreach FTTP will help. How long is left on the contract?
YouFibre seem to be sometime in 2025 if I'm lucky so it's time to look at a Openreach FTTP ISP.
I did look favorably on Aquiss but that's now 2 really bad problems people have posted in the span of what, 2 weeks? Like yeah it's good that you get responses but how much do you put up with before...
Wow.

Asus response to this? Just make the affected routers EOL and don't patch anything.

Also @RobTi if you look at any product long enough you will see problems. The difference here is gl inet are atleast holding their hands up and saying "yeah we messed up let us try and fix the problems"...
Make sure you copy/paste what they give you sometimes you can read an l as a I or whatever.
Some of the confusion comes from them having a VoIP service where most people have contacted them for VoIP username and password.
Yes just get another router and plug that into the box on the wall. The eero is not required.
I don't know if YouFibre still require specific MAC addreses or not so you might need to go on support and tell them the MAC address of whatever router you end up getting.
