Test riding a bike with no previous insurance policy - help!

Guys, Passed my MOD2 on Wednesday and I’m still buzzing! I’m bow looking to go out and buy a bike but have some questions. I’ve no previous bike insurance so was wondering how one would go about asking for a test ride. Unlike with me buying a new car, I can add another car on my policy for a...

About to pass my DAS - cheap insurance

Super. Thanks for all the advice chaps. I've gone ahead and bought an OXFORD RotaForce Anchor and Monster Chain. As you said, anything can be chopped through but it shows willing. I'm going to be keeping the bike to the rear of my house so it's out of sight and it's going to sit underneath a...

About to pass my DAS - cheap insurance

Ok gents, I get it, I've got the bug, I understand why 2 wheels are far superior for fun, thrills and adrenaline than 4. I've passed my MOD1 and about to take my MOD2 in the next few weeks. It's been recommended that I get a 600cc ish bike to start with (and this is all I'm after as I want to...

How do you secure your Motorbike?

Yea, it's as far over as it can pretty much get. I'm thinking of riping this all up and laying some more slate/bricks down and using that as the parking spot. Think that wall would be sufficient for an anchor point? It's probably been there a hundred years or so.

How do you secure your Motorbike?

So as you guys have correctly pointed out, I'll be keeping my 1 series and trying to store a bike in the same area. I was thinking about maybe taking out this 'bench' type thing I have and using that side to secure the bike or maybe even making my own shed? what do you think? I guess it...

How do you secure your Motorbike?

Ok, I'm looking into the future here. I've not even completed my CBT (which is booked for next Friday, 1st) and my Theory is booked for the 7th. I'm not interested in buying a 125 and will be looking to spend a bit of time building up my experience on a bigger bike and doing my Direct Access...

    New Graphics Card advice

Guys, I've been out of the pc building game for a while. I've got my own built rig with an i5-3570 @3.4GHz with 8GB RAM but I feel my graphics card is the current bottle neck and I'm looking for advice on what you'd suggest I upgrade to. I can't remember what I've got at the moment and Windows...

I need help with my CV regarding taking time off to travel?

For someone who's lucky to have been in a travelling position for the past 15 years and spends about a quarter of my year overseas I understand the benefits of travelling. If done correctly, if gives you the unique insight and understanding of other cultures which you just can't get from being...

    Long time no post

Morning guys! Just thought I'd say Hi as I've not posted for a very long time! I found OcUK when I was at school and began building PC's out of encouragement from another friend who posts/ed here. I've always found OcUK useful and thought that instead of lurking and reading occasionally I'd...

Restoring a Nexus 7 from a USB stick rather than PC

Ok, tried both methods. They both seem to get some of the way there but ultimately they both deliver the same error: Signature mismatch (displayed at the top left of the Nexus). On the device I have: FASTBOOT MODE PRODUCT NAME - grouper VARIANT - not defined yet HW VERSION - ER3 BOOTLOADER...

Restoring a Nexus 7 from a USB stick rather than PC

That's great, I've got further than I did before. It's now saying that my Device version-bootloader is '3.41'. Update requires '4.23' You're right, it's a Nexus 2012 model (it's not got a camera on the back, jsut a forward facing one). Know how to update my bootloader? :sigh!:
