It is CCD0 with the cache right? In Hogwarts it is mostly asleep with the other CCD being used. Game Bar is installed. Not sure if this is specific to Hogwarts.

No he said the other CCD did nothing when gaming and running other programs unless he used a program to specifically call on all the cores. They even talked about third party solutions to help and maybe a fix in the future from AMD.

Yes because as stated he ran R23 16core which woke it up. Unless you do that specifically it does nothing no matter how many programs are running.

Maybe background is the confusion. So say you are gaming, using discord, using OBS and other programs, they all stay on the cached CCD and the second does nothing. If you do these things but then use a program that will use all cores at the same time, it wakes up. Unless the program asks to use...

The PC World video said that if they used a program that used all the cores together (he did mention an example but can't remember) the other chip woke up. If not then it all went to the cached chip. I hope its wrong as I bought one but if it's right it doesn't feel like a great move keeping it...

I feel you are purposely missing the point. I'm not making a personal attack against AMD, it is what it is. The 7950X3D is not functioning the same as a 7950X or 13900k. When gaming the second CCX is turned off. It is not used at all. This should have been made clear.

No but it does for other tasks when gaming. The 7950X3D does not when gaming. I suggest you watch the PC World video to better understand. It's not a dummy, it is just not being used at all when gaming.

I just watched the PC World video and this does sound like an issue. If you are gaming essentially you have an 8 core CPU and everything else goes onto that CCX as well. There should have been more awareness about this amongst the media. I will probably return my new build based on this. Maybe...
