Yeah you really need a gigabit network to stream high bitrate files, 10/100 will be fine for itunes stuff or similar. Like you said a gigabit switch is an easy fix though. Is the DXVA2 option definitely turned on in the XBMC settings? You can also set up XBMC to use MPCHC as an external video...

Creative Aurvana Live. I've had a pair for a good couple of years now and they have never let me down. The cable isn't detachable though and the carry case is just a soft pouch but they sound good.

+1 Check your load temps again too as i'm sure that the 15c difference between cores is an anomaly. What case is this in btw? Edit: The Corsair will be fine. Only a couple degree difference between best/worst stuff

The class system is unreliable at best too with loads of cards not matching the required speeds. Basically ignore the class number and buy a brand you trust, that's basically all you can do

Ha! Carl Sagan was well known to have the exact same habit, didn't stop him from being an incredible popular science author/presenter/academic etc. Also the famous 'pale blue dot' passage in his book is beautiful. Brian Cox on the other hand was in a **** band!

You can improve that probably but they will pretty much always be worse quality than the DVD due to the encoding process. If you don't mind the quality then the ATV will be very inexpensive and convenient but if you want high quality video/audio then they are best avoided really.

Basically the controller is the important bit not the drive manufacturer. The Sandforce controller is probably the most popular right now (SF-1200) and the OCZ Vertex 2E are often recommended. Defo faster than the Intel

I would avoid the SG01, it's pretty dated now and only has 80mm fan mounts so it will be hot and noisy. How about the Lian Li PC-V354? Looks better imo and should be cooler and quieter too. The P8P67-M PRO looks like a good M-ATX board, it's ATX equivalents are monster clockers for the price...

I figured, but it fits the Gelid Tranquilo which is pretty darn tall in its own right.

Anyone know if the beastly Noctua NH-D14 will fit?
