Maybe I misread the promotion. I assumed that when they said they had partnered with leading manufacturers that there would be bundle deals of WD Hdds and other manufacturers NAS boxes, rather than just flogging only WD kit. But misleading if you ask me unless, as lordbarrass says, there will be...
Was it. I do apologise. Not posted here for a few years. Guess rules have changed. Didn't look that big when I saw it yesterday, certainly no bigger than your 6 lines worth.
**EDIT** Sorry BlackAle - showed as 6 lines on my iphone. 3 small font lines on computer ***
Anyway I'll read the rules...
So I got my OC email tonight... oooo.... NAStravaganza "Save money on great bundles" Offers run from 19th Jan to 20th Feb.
Sounds promising as I'm thinking of upgrading my old Synology box for a shiny new one with some WD Red's, so I was really keen to see what was on offer.
Maybe it's...
I'm pretty sure I dont have the relevant connections/cables for testing the HDMI capabilities of this screen from my PC.
I have a Sapphire 4870x2 and this only has 2 DVI ports, and I dont have DVI to HDMI cable or adapter.
So sorry rooophy... no can do.
Unfortunately no. It was very late when I took the pics and I didnt really study them at the time.
I had to pack up the A00 monitor and get it into work to send it back to Dell. When I did get round to looking at the photos the next day, I thought exactly the same thing as you.... should have...
As promised here is some more detail and some pics I took during testing.
I set my new A01 monitor to exactly the same colour, brightness and contrast settings as the old A00. When sat side by side I was amazed at how different the colours were. I dont think this is startling as all screens...
Yes... sorry... forgot to let you guys know.
I got back into work on Monday after a long Christmas break to have the next in a long line of Dell monitors thrust upon me. I cant confirm whether OCUK are shipping out the A01 revision yet, but I can confirm that Dell UK are. At least they did do...
Had my phone call from Dell support guy on the 7th (as he promised over a month ago), and he said he hasnt had official confirmation that Dell are shipping only A01 revisions now, but he did know that some people had received new ones directly so he has arranged for another new one to be...
To Sallermas : All my problems were with A00. The only A01 I had was a refurb, and it had a major problem with the 'Power Saving Mode' when used with DVI, so I could never test it.
To CaptainRAVE : Input lag problems not detectable ???!! I beg to differ. All the Rev A00's i had suffered from...
I have also found that they are really bad at picking up monitors.
1st one was picked up correctly.
2nd one was a day after it was arranged for
3 and 4 were about 10 days (!!!) after the date they said.
I didnt really mind as they were being picked up from reception at work, but the...
The latest installment of my saga....
Guy from Dell called me up today (unprompted - scottish guy this time) to see how things were going. I explained that the monitor I currently have is the best one by far, but that I still notice the input lag and it does have some backlight bleed. We...
I find it strange that Dell would admit to A01's being returned as they dont normally like to admit to anything. It took them ages to admit that there was a problem with the A00 revision.
But I'm not suprised that A01's are bring returned. They could be on revision A99 and I'm sure they'd still...
No, none of the 5 monitors I have had have buzzed. Well 4 of them havent, I dont know about the one that wouldnt power on thanks to the Display Saving.
Card reader !? That's one thing I've never checked. Must admit, it's well down on the list of things that I'm bothered about. Probably wont...
Yet more interesting news....
I contacted the same Dell Tech Support guy again as monitor No.4 has been sat in my reception at work for over a week waiting to be collected. Was informed that they would arrange a special courier to pick it up on Monday. But that's not the interesting news...
Well I got my 5th monitor yesterday. 0G286H part number, revision A00 on the box. Checked the back, made in August 08. From that moment I knew it was deffo the old firmware. Plugged it in anyway, and 25% increments. ...sigh...
So 5 monitors later, I'm back where I started. Same part number...
The Dell Tech Support guy has just phoned me back, and if I understood him correctly (he speaks very fast with a broad Irish twang) he has spoken to a Senior Technician that has said every new monitor now coming in should have the revised firmware. They have also been busy reflashing their...
Well it's been a while since I reported on here. Looks like we are all still waiting for a brand new A01 to be seen in the UK.
Since I last reported, I had no response from the customer service guy that I was dealing with, so I decided to use Dell's online Tech Support. Put in all the details...
I reckon they do that on purpose you know, just so you cant just 'pop round' and get the item you want :)
I'm near London, not Londonderry so a round trip to Ireland isnt really on the cards.
No response to my web request for help yet, but they did say please allow 24 hours. Shame they...
Havent checked back here for a while, but by the looks of it no-one has had any joy yet.
Great summary 'brhume' although I am fairly certain my first 2408 was the 0G268H from Mexico (or was it 0G286H, def from Mexico tho as the other 2 have def been 0CX268's from CZ), nevermind
I'm...
Congratulations ik9111. I'd be happy with that.
No reply to my email by the Customer Services chap. Be just my luck he's gone on holiday or been sacked for being too helpful in the past.
