Birthday present for myself, the 480 nitro pre-order would arrive too late for it. For the sake of a few fps it doesnt bother me that much. (game @ 1080p so the difference is minor, from the reviews I checked.) Also wanted the slightly lower power usage then the 480.

Its more then just a factory overclock imo, you cant seem to flash the older versions to this 'new' card. There is also better idle power usage on these compared to the older version, can that be done with just software/bios changes? Lots of people arguing about performance for/against this...

Lets be honest, most recent games are multi thread and the amount of cores used keeps going up. There are some beinfits for old single thread games, but any recent cpu nevermind SB or BD will eat those alive anyways so there's no real advantage. The only reason i can see for single thread...
