Is something on its way out?

Its a bit difficult to pinpoint where that sound is coming from. Try underclocking/power limiting your gpu a bit, maybe to 80%. Check if that makes any difference. It does sound like your gpu is doing some odd coil whine when under load. Either that, or your water pump is starting to deteriorate.

    2080TI FE to 4070 super??

Apart from the 4090 and possibly 4070ti, the rest of the 40xx series isn't worth the upgrade from a 2080ti.

    am i mad ?

Whether it's water-cooled or air-cooled, you won't see much of a performance gap these days. Gone are the days when water cooling a cpu or gpu yielded double digit performance gains when overclocked. You'll be mostly paying a premium for a quieter* gpu when gaming. It may also save you changing...

Keyboard and USB Hub have lights - PC not connected to wall plug

Residual power? Happens with my rgb mouse and keyboard too for a few seconds after the pc is powered off.

    Usb port protectors?

I have a male to female USB extension cable. They work fine for connecting peripherals, but they seem to be tatty when using USB sticks. The transfer rate seems to drop. I'd recommend a decent USB hub instead.

    New build not powering up

Try reseating the cpu + heatsink and try powering up without the graphics card as Brizzles suggested. Might not be relevant, check the kettle cable is plugged in the PSU properly. Seen a few PCs power up for a second or 2 at most, only to find the kettle cable wasn't fully plugged in.

Back from the Dead: 3dfx's Unreleased Voodoo5 6000 Quad-GPU Card

A blast from the past. 3dfx made the coolest looking graphic cards box arts I'd ever seen. Their graphic cards kind of started the massive advancements which we have in today's gpus. Shame they bankrupted before releasing the Voodoo5 beast.

    I need more monitors

Hello, I believe the max monitors you can connect on an nVidia 30 series is 4. You'd need either another graphics card for additional monitors or you could try something like Plugable UGA. Going the Plugable UGA route might be the cheaper option than adding a second graphics card depending on...

Can a PC be too powerful?

This reminds me of the early days of cpus. Can't beat the competition with better architecture? Just push the TDP higher. At some point diminishing returns kicks in and the efficiency drops off a cliff. I'm hoping that we don't end up with silly high TDP for gpus in the next 3 or 4...

Why are GPU's so cheap now?

Simple, it's all about supply and demand. Not the same level of demand from miners as there was a year ago due to the drop in crypto prices / uncertainty, increase in electric tariffs and the new GPU series is just around the corner. Mind you, even with inflation, spending £500+ for a GPU is...

    Graphics card for VR

You can get a used 2080ti nowadays for £350. They perform somewhere between a 3070 and a 3070ti, but also have 3gb more vram in case it's ever needed. Edit: They also run cooler than most 3070ti and some models run near silent.

    3060ti 2fan vs 3080ti 3 fan temps

The larger fans will move more air compared to the smaller ones at the same rpm. Assuming you're able to fit the larger fans in place of the smaller ones, you should see an improvement in temps.

Random reboot - how do I investigate the cause?

Event viewer > Windows logs > System Look for any "critical" event around the time of the crash. The error code should give you some idea of what happened. If it's too vague, keep an eye on your gpu and cpu temps (with it being summer and all). It could be just a one off though or it could...

    Pre-Built crashing like a yoyo

I second what mickyflinn said. It's probably the PSU. A bad PSU will cause system crashes with the GPU showing up as the primary suspect in most cases. Test out your pc if possible with a different PSU.

Naming schemes are dumb and getting dumber

Something like Samsungs current mobile phones naming would be easier to follow if sounding a bit generic and boring. RXYYxx Where YY is the year and xx the model. An RX2290 would be the 2022 model of the 6900 as an example. RXT2280 for 6800xt etc
