I've bought a bunch of cheap SSDs and made 4-way RAID-0 - I hit nearly 2GB/s sequential so it's perfect for loading games quickly ;) 4-way raid-0 means it's 4 times more likely to fail, but it's backed up and worst case I can redownload the games from steam.

How do you monitor the temps of the SSD controller? I've been monitoring based on transfer speeds and so far have seen no throttling in my usage, but my drive sits in an adapter under the GPU so does get some airflow.

Gonna pick up 1080 too - the HTPC, currently has gtx760 which is not enough for VR (I have Vive) and my PC has 980ti which is not enough for 4k ;) So the 980ti goes to HTPC and 1080 goes to my PC.

I really like my current 24" 1080p screen PPI so if 40" 4k provides the same, I'll be aiming for this. My split is going to 80% work, 20% play so I need sharp picture with good enough colours and input lag low enough not to spoil the the 20% play. Can anyone recommend a particular TV model then?
