    Final Fantasy VII - "Remake"

There's an option for camera distance (both in and out of combat) in the settings which helps a bit.

    Valve Index display quality?

Just in case you want a viewpoint of someone who bought and returned their Index, he's a copy/paste from a reply posted by me elsewhere to someone asking for details as to why I returned it: It was a combination of small issues all adding up. None of them by themselves was a deal breaker, but...

    Asgard's Wrath

Nah, they're not frustrating, they're just kinda obvious. You won't be disappointed though - there's not much else (if anything) that reaches this overall quality, and it does seem from the reviews that it's a proper length game, which for a VR game is pretty much unheard of.

    Asgard's Wrath

Pretty much posted this elsewhere, but here you go: Had a couple of hours on Asgard's Wrath. It's good. Not without it's flaws, but the general production values are fantastic. Can't help but feel that if you've never played Skyrim VR, then it will impress you even more. The initial tombs you...

    Alien: Isolation Collection £6.25

Just be careful of jumping into something that uses smooth locomotion like Alien Isolation straight away. Take it easy with anything like that if you've not used VR before, and stop playing instantly if you feel ill. All that aside, Alien Isolation is amazing in VR :)

    Rift s whos getting one?

I'll pass. Total disappointment as far as I'm concerned. The big killer for me is the LCD panel. I can look past a lot of stuff when it comes to panels, but LCD black levels just don't cut it for me in a HMD.

Author of a new VR book about Oculus and Facebook is live on the VR Roundtable Podcast today

Looks like there might also be an extra episode this week on Wednesday (yet to be confirmed), with the new US operations manager from Pimax as a guest.

Author of a new VR book about Oculus and Facebook is live on the VR Roundtable Podcast today

Blake J. Harris, author of "Console Wars" has a new book out on the 19th called "The History Of The Future: Oculus, Facebook, And The Revolution That Swept Virtual Reality". He's a guest on today's live episode of VR Roundtable in just over an hour (approx 5pm GMT, 6pm CET) from this post if...

    *** VR Deals Thread ***

I played and finished Adri1ft ages ago, and would basically say it's along the same lines of so called "walking simulators" like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (well, floating instead of walking in this case). If you like that sort of thing where you just kind of move along and discover the...

    Oculus Rift

Use the Oculus Tray Tool to set supersampling settings to get a bit of a boost in visual quality. 1.0 is the default, and what you can increase it to beyond that depends on the game and your graphics card. Some people go crazy at 2.0 or higher, but frankly I can't tell the difference once you...

Borderlands 2 coming to PC VR ~May 2019.

While I agree there's a strong likelihood that it will due to them specifically mentioning the specific period on their advertising, Mike is just making an assumption based on that. There's no confirmation whatsoever at this point that we'll get a PC version. Remember RE7?...

Now nvidia are supporting Freesync panels (announced last night)

This was talked about even back in the DK days - I don't know if things have changed since, but the problem as I recall was this: Every frame in the HMD is illuminated for a set amount of time. For a 90Hz display it's about 13ms, and for several of those milliseconds the display is turned off...

I picked it up when it hit £20, and it's easily my VR game of the year. Yeah, it's janky, the interface could be a lot better etc, but damn. Just exploring that world in VR is amazing.

On the fence over a Rift...

That's exactly what it sounds like. If I based my entire opinion of VR on my own personal experiences, I'd have 5 friends with headsets,4 of who regularly use theirs, and only one who sold his (he did so when Touch released, and his computer room is literally that small that motion controls were...

On the fence over a Rift...

Just to add to the question about resolution etc no longer being relevant when you're in a game - it's very much a personal thing. For me, the level of immersion outweighs the loss in resolution, though that's not to say I don't want more. For my PC gaming mates, it's good enough that half of...

On the fence over a Rift...

You can't really compare a monitor ratio with the view in a HMD - it's a different experience. Resolution does appear low compared to a monitor, but a HMD gives you an experience that a monitor simply can't replicate. I notice you're in Nottingham - if you can't decide, can't find anywhere to...

    Subnautica available for free

Yeah, they're already signing exclusives. There are certainly some developers out there that have had enough of Steam.

    Slightly Heroes

I played the beta, and unfortunately it's only 1v1. There were also (non functioning at the time) options to buy items for actual money.. I'd had enough of it after half an hour though.

Project Cars game of the year vs Project Cars 2

Project Cars 2 is in next months Humble Monthly, so you can get it for $12 along with some other stuff (and you can unlock the PC2 code straight away).

I always thought SPT was over-hyped (though I guess it was one of the first that did wave shooters well). If you want that style of wave shooter, Blasters of the Universe and Serious Sam Last Hope were both way better imo.
