............. You get redundancy by having two cards in the event one fails, but I've always found the single more powerful card setup to be better in real terms. Keep an old 770 in a cupboard for redundancy & go for the 980Ti.
Single card also lets you consider SFF/iTX builds......
I'm sure these will be great - I have an EVGA 770 SC with a reference cooler - it was expensive, but offers remarkable cooling performance in a compact case.
