    LG 42-inch OLED

For desktop use my 48” isn’t very comfortable and has lower ppi than the 27” 1440p screen. Also not having your display turn on and off with the computer is a bit of a hassle. You can use colorcontrol to turn on and off the screen over network but it’s not 100% reliable and also windows has to...

    LG 42-inch OLED

as you can see above I'm using 48" C1 and 27" qd oled and while the qd oled is more colourful in hdr and has slightly brighter highlights it's not a huge difference. the biggest difference to me is 360hz, reduced input lag and higher full screen brightness that is noticeable in normal desktop use.

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

It happens, one day my wife made me help her change curtains in our bedroom so I took the telescopic metal curtain rail off. The rail extended itself and struck one of my OLED TVs, leaving a deep scratch in the anti-glare coating right in the middle of the screen. Luckily it is not visible from...

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

Today I noticed that all non HDR games had raised blacks by a lot so I DDU both Nvidia and AMD graphics drivers and only installed Nvidia driver. Non HDR games are back to normal and vrr brightness flicker is pretty much gone as well as monitor frame rate / refresh rate counter doesn't go crazy...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Even if the TV doesn’t have ultrawide mode you can still create custom resolution.

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

After trying few more games yesterday I noticed that some games flicker heavily while others not at all. Enabling frame generation usually makes flickering worse. Also in some games the monitor's frame rate / refresh rate counter fluctuates wildly but there is no flicker. The fact that...

only tried dp so far for two reasons, i need hdmi for lg c1 and i want to run the monitor at 360hz. i will try at some point tho and will also try connecting it to motherboard output so it will use amd drivers.

lets hope so as I do like it a lot. playing Destiny 2 at 300fps with excellent HDR was awesome... :)

in motion it flickers the same didn't try in cyberpunk yet but in Destiny 2 there was almost 0 flicker but the game runs at around 300fps if I can't sort it out in some way I will be definitely contacting Dell I don't see that option in NVCP but HDR works fine it's connected but disabled, will...

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

So I was wrong and locking the game framerate to 118fps did not reduce the flicker. Here is another video comparing it to my LG C1. Same scene, same settings, same resolution and game locked to 118fps in both cases. Alienware flickers heavily while C1 has almost 0 flicker. Refresh rate display...

If you want judder and tear free experience without vrr you have to use vsync which increases input lag more than vrr.

Never.! You’ll either end up with judder, tearing or increased input lag. Anyway in my case locking frame rate in Nvidia control panel to 118fps (this is what I use with my LG C1) reduced the flickering by a lot. The funny thing is that monitors frame rate / refresh rate display still shows...

Except the game runs extremely fluid with 0 micro stutter so something isn’t right as if framerate would really be that erratic the game would stutter. Not sure if vrr will work that way but I will try mirroring the monitor onto my C1 and comparing. I will obviously limit the monitor to 120hz...

This is how mine flickers when enabling vrr. The camera exaggerates the effect slightly but it’s still very obvious looking at it in person.

My 27” got delivered today and only done a quick test as had to go back to work. Definitely flickers much more than my LG C1 and also the pink fringing on the text is very visible. I much prefer text clarity on my 48” C1 than on this 27” qd oled (both at 100% scaling). Will properly test it...
