I have managed to run some benchmarks to compare - not yet ran Hitman it was still downloading from Steam - all 11.7GB ! Will add that over next day or so. My CPU was at 4.3ghz and I didn't bother tweaking - I can run it higher when required. Just to note there is a slight CPU speed advantage...

Thanks Stu - that's helpful and interesting to hear that stock 290's are fine in crossfire if you let the fans do their job. I haven't ruled out stock cards on the basis that they exhaust most of the heat out of the case. That said looking at Gibbo's post has confirmed my initial poking around...
