    FAO: Forum Admins and Moderators

Hi, Some weeks ago, I was trying to find a way to contact an administrator or a moderator. I was unable to find any way of using the forum to send a private message nor was I able to find an email that I could use to contact directly. In the end I used the 'Contact Us' link that lead...

    'Put me on' graphics card.

Meh... Been looking on the bay and there is very few offering for the GTX 680. Thought there might have been a decent selection on there. If forum rules permit, can anyone suggest somewhere else I could look at picking up a second hand card? Thanks

    'Put me on' graphics card.

I currently have an nVidia 9800GTX+, which works perfectly with my OS X, on my Hackintosh build. While there may be a way to get an AMD card to work with OS X, I would have more confidence in getting an Nvidia card to work without as much hassle.

    'Put me on' graphics card.

Hi, Just a quickie... I am looking at playing GTA V on my PC and my 9800GTX+ 512MB just isn't gonna cut it. I am strapped for cash at the moment so cannot afford to go all out on an all bells and whistles card. Can anyone suggest an NVIDIA card in the £100 range that will get me...

Modifying a Modmic - Making it 'modular'

If I do do it, I'll try and remember to get some snaps of it for you. Wouldn't mind knowing myself lol. I still need to know what cable I would need to use if I were to go ahead with what I want to do. As far as I can tell, a normal stereo speaker cable would do the job, but could do...

Modifying a Modmic - Making it 'modular'

I did have it braided. It kind of sorts the problem but it's not very elegant and it easily snags on stuff. Being able to shorten the cable as per my idea would be a hundred times better... At least for me :)

Modifying a Modmic - Making it 'modular'

Hi guys. After a bit of advice. I bought myself a Modmic or use in conjunction with my Sennheiser HD 598 headphones. The cables that come with both of these are 3 meters in length. I can certainly see the benefit in some situations to having cables of this length, but for me when...

    Synology vs. QNAP

@KIA I can install rtorrent and rutorrent no problem; just autotools will not work. I tried everything and unfortunately none of the (very little) advice on Synology's forums didn't work or wasn't relevant. @syn3rgy Yeah I have seen that guide. However you will note that the guide was...

    Synology vs. QNAP

Hi guys, Following from a recent thread I started, I have some more questions. I have created a new thread as topics are totally different. I took delivery of a Synology DS214play last week. I wanted something that would serve all my files without having to have my main PC on all the...

    My Headphones/Microphone/Gaming/Music Quandary

Morning, I have just started getting back into online gaming with friends. During my previous jaunts with online gaming, I never really gave the chatting with friends on Skype side of things much thought; so at the time I bought a 35quid Logitech 350 headset. Those who listen to me over...

Best methods of implementing NAS storage

Hi guys I am sorry to dreg up an old topic like this but I am after some more advice. I am giving the NAS thing a bit more consideration, but am still really unsure of how to go about this. I understand that having an Intel Atom CPU would obviously be more powerful than the Marvell CPU's...

Hard Drive (SSD) Issues - Disconnect/Windows Errors

For anyone remotely interested... it seems it was the SATA cable that was the culprit. Since swapping it, Windows has been fine. So today's top tip... check your cables :) Knowing my luck, it will start playing up again now.

Hard Drive (SSD) Issues - Disconnect/Windows Errors

Thanks wazza for your suggestions. I was having problems when using the disk on different port that was controlled by a Marvell chipset controller. I moved it to a different port controlled by an Intel controller, still had problems, albeit manifested a little differently; still appeared as...

Hard Drive (SSD) Issues - Disconnect/Windows Errors

I am actually using the F16 mod11 BIOS from Tweaktown. I may be wrong, but surely the BIOS version wouldn't cause an issue like this?

Hard Drive (SSD) Issues - Disconnect/Windows Errors

Hi, I apologise if this post is lengthy and nonsensical; there are so many weird things happening that it is hard to put it into words. My PC is actually primarily a Hackintosh, but that is not the issue. I do have a hard drive in my PC that runs Windows, and I recently upgraded that to a...

Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H - Slow boot with USB drives attached.

I have the Z77X-UD5H (Rev 1.0) for a couple of years now. Can't really complain about anything, with the exception of one thing: When I switch the computer on, I get the nice fancy Gigabyte splash screen and then it loads my bootloader (in this case Clover EFI for my Hackintosh build)...
