If you're using all your cpu cores and gpu at the same time then it helps to set the priority on the gpu app to high, otherwise you slow the gpu down. You can change it by adding this to the appinfo: <cmdline>b-1 p3</cmdline> I don't really understand what b-1 does but p3 sets the priority...

Did you choose the right version for your CPU? like SSE2, SSE3 etc..

cpu isnt that bad of a producer with the optimzed apps, try em :) takes my cpu around an hour and half to complete a wu with em, takes over double that with stock apps

Yea you should defiantly get more than 4Mbps. My line attenuation is 39db and I sync at 10Mbps As far as i'm aware, only BT do the line test thing for the first few days to see what your line is capable off, i'm pretty sure LLU providers don't do that. You might wanna fit a proper ADSL...

Been with BE for years as well. Amazing ISP, one of the best IMO. No restrictions, full speed any time of the day and never goes down. You even get a days free internet on your bithday! :D Another option would be to see if fibre is coming to your area soon and wait for that, but that means...

You should use the SMP client if you aren't already, or run linux under vmware and get even more PPD. http://reilly.homeip.net/folding/vm.html edit: nvm you're alredy using SMP.. no idea then, I don't fold anymore :)

Sorry for hijacking the thread. I'm thinking of getting another HD5870 myself.. My CPU is a Q9650 @ 4ghz, would that be a bottleneck? (1900x1200 is the highest resolution I'll be using) I'm also a complete noob when it comes to xfire as I've never done it before. Do I need 2 xfire cables or...

my 260 got some weird WU's the other day though. Temp shot up to like 95c, they didn't seen any different to the usual ones though.. same numbers and stuff. I just closed the client down, deleted the work and hoped it got a different one cos 95c is scary.
