The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Finally managed to get a good Sapphire Nitro+ 7900 XTX and what a great card it is. No regrets about going from the 4090 to it, less than 1/2 the price and not lost a great deal of performance

The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

I had one and sent it back, the coil whine was awful, the cooler was very good which was a shame as it was a good card and quick but the coil whine in desktop/games was not something I could put up with.

The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

My concern was with how the card was damaged what else had it been subjected to, it wasn't in an anti static bag, it had no port protectors on it. The first card was pretty much as new just with a dead HDMI, the second was most certainly not...

Not done very well with my 7900 XTX mission first card has a duff HDMI port second was damaged (B-Grade...) :(

The Radeon RX 6900/6950 XT Owners Thread.

I think this was a bit extreme, normal coil whine wouldn't be a problem, but this was ear splitting in desktop and games and had got much much worse over the previous few weeks. I could hear it with the PC running fans at 70% and the PC upstairs from the kitchen.

My 6950 Red Devil developed ear splitting coil whine so returned it and got a partial refund. Thats covered most of the cost of a 7900 XTX so going to try that instead.

My 7900 XTX Nitro+ has arrived and been installed. Did a clean OS install and it very quiet, kicks out some serious heat but has a duff 1st HDMI port :(

When are you going fully electric?

If its done properly and with the right requirements, governance etc defined it isn't necessarily more expensive and can deliver some serious benefits. But you have to not just try to treat it as a bunch of VMs like you did on prem, which equally doesn't meet the GDPR or other requirements of...

When are you going fully electric?

But fundamentally we are talking about different things between the charger, a short term consumable device which is dependant on a (comparatively) small manufacture and a vehicle (arguable short term and consumable...) that is still in production, still sold and up until today had functionality...

When are you going fully electric?

Please don't get me wrong I understand security concerns with IT systems all to well, but this isn't ultimately the issue, the issue is communication and perception, and as I spend half my life telling people designing system Perception is King. The IPace facebook group is a blood bath, you...

When are you going fully electric?

I've switched over IO to control the mini instead so I stay in the tariff otherwise it'd revert Octopus Go which is 4 hours at 9p rather than 6 at 7.5. Just frustrating that the change has been made with 0 comms from JLR, its not like they don't know who has the app, who has given API access...

When are you going fully electric?

So turns out from 6am tomorrow the ipace can't be controlled by Octopus, or any other 3rd party (ovo, EON etc), anymore so am being kicked off the Intelligent Tariff at the end of May. No comms from Jaguar about this and found out, along with all the other Octopus users at about 6.30pm. Not...

The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

The Hellhound was well built and quiet but had horrendous coil whine, regardless of if it was in game or desktop and whatever the framerate. I could hear it over the fans and sound in games, so sent it back.

The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Going to have a try of a 7900 XTX Nitro+ after the Hellhound went back. If this is no good then probably end up with an Nvidia card. Mainly play Le Mans Ultimate, AMS2 and a couple of others at 4k, so RT performance isn't exactly important.

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

Something a bit odd going on with one of my PCs. I've had it connected to the Gateway Ultra both cabled directly and via Wifi to the default network associated with my SSID. After a couple a few minutes it loses internet access, everything else on that network carries on fine, with no issues...

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

I found when I had the express the UI was at times incredibly slow, it improved with software updates but pages were not responsive. As an AP it worked great and had good coverage and was easily to hide away due to the form factor, but as a gateway as well, it was a little under powered, much...

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

Had the Gateway Ultra delivered yesterday and set it last night. Its a nice little form factor, sits on my desk easily and powered from a USB adaptor. Easy to transfer from the UDR and restored the network config, re-adopted the AP's and configured the new U6-Mesh and was up and running very...

I had a 7900 XTX Hellhound but the coil whine was ridiculous so have sent it back tempted to try a different brand as liked the 7900 xtx card but not sure what to go for
