Press and hold F3, select advanced and repair i think. After repair, even if it says nothing is wrong or it was not able to fix it, it should work again. Happened to my MSI

yep read the mobo manual and you should be ok. be careful about the pins on the cpu socket, they are delicate and easy to mess it up

i have experienced the same before but mostly in laptops. After a while the thermal paste would just dry up and become brittle. However, make sure you reset it and test it before going thru the hassle. if money was no object then upgrade a cheap AIO water cooler
