    Jonsbo U4 Mini

Loving the Jonsbo / Jonsplus cases. Lian Li used to be my go to for a high quality case for years but the quality is not what it used to be, the aluminium seems a lot thinner and the price has gone up too.

    corded or cordless

Gone back to wires. I had a Corsair K63 wireless and it was great, everything I wanted in a keyboard, nice and small, mechanical switches, RF and bluetooth connectivity, also got a wireless Harpoon mouse to match. I lasted about a month, the battery life is just woeful, maybe 2 days at most...

    8th gen Civic AC problem

Had the same issue on mine. Took it to an AC place I have used before and they said its probably the condenser as they have done several on those. They topped up the AC and put dye in it and it lasted about 2 days but like you the leak rate was so low they could not detect a leak, nothing around...

Did you ever speak with your parents about inheritance?

This thread made me realise my position is a little unique. I think my folks and I / My brother discuss this sort of stuff every time we meet. Not always in a serious way, sometimes a jokey way but to be honest I am really grateful for that and the way they choose to speak to us so freely about...

AMD RX 7900 XT/XTX Upgrade discussion

I am looking for an upgrade from the 5700XT just to run 4K a little better and I like that this has more memory than the 4080 whilst offering similar performance, why the price though? I thought $999 was were we were expecting to be and not £1049?

THEA500 Mini has been announced via Retro Games Ltd. and distributed by Koch Media

I'm up for this. I would have preferred an A600 mini personally, glad to see they didn't emulate that ridiculous TV modulator that came with the original system. I would love the maxi if it ever did come out but with the Amiga a lot of the original disks are starting to fail whilst a lot of old...

What retro things have you done today?

I updated one of my old retro PCs I posted on OCUK a few years back, unfortunately the pictures have long gone from the thread but I made a few updates, let me know what you think. Whenever I put together a retro PC there is always that temptation to put in the fastest graphics card, the fastest...

Which Graphics cards do you regret buying?

TNT2 M64 - Yes the version with the 64 bit data bus, I thought it would be faster than my voodoo 3, nope! Kyro 2 Prophet 4500 -Oddly not for the card, the performance was great, sometimes even faster than a geforce 2 Ultra for much less money. The gams I could play performed great I think Power...

    3700x > 5600x?

Just to chuck into the mix, I had a Ryzen 2700X and went to a 5600X firstly for the increased IPC and also lower TDP as i was moving to a smaller case. No sure offhand how it compared to the 3700X but I found with video editing in vegas the increased IPC easily made up for the loss of 2 cores...

Any memories of the old shops we used to visit?

My favourate would have been RJ Computers in Downend, Bristol. A great shop with friendly staff, always came out of there with a game and best of all they got sent loads of posters and they would let me pick some to take home for my walls when I was a kid :) I haven't pirated a game in years...

Is now the best time to sell your GPU?

Took my spare GTX1080 down CEX this morning. Hope they pay out, All I got back was a graphics card testing receipt, they say thats all they give. £292 though can't complain getting that back for a card I bought in 2016, will help fund my new sofa :). TBH I'd say go for it, I still have a 5700XT...

Is now the best time to sell your GPU?

I'm going to shop in my Geforce 1080, it's stuck in the garage in a box at the moment and I just don't trust ebay, all boxed and they will pay £292, not bad at all, will take it down on the weekend.

Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

I have a 5700XT at the moment so no real need to upgrade. What surprises me more though is that I have a second PC Ryzen 3600 and a Geforce 1050 that I use for streaming games to my big TV through the Samsung TV steam app. Every game I play on it has played great, I may not play the very latest...

Old 9 pin joysticks for 8-bit computers are surprisingly expensive

Nice selection. I think some of those are the Quickshot python, I was quite happy with that stick back in the day. I also had the Quickshot maverick arcade stick which was good and I can remember trying to repair the leaf spring on one of those quickshot kemptson sticks, I think I tried to use...

What retro things have you done today?

Are they both the same model of card with the same memory configuration (8 or 12mb isn't it?) should still run off the same driver. Can you try it in another pci slot or won't the external VGA cable stretch that far? Does it appear in device manager ok without errors?

What was your first PC spec?

My first PC would have been a Sinclair Spectrum 16K, back then it was a "home micro" what happened to that term , it was great :) In the modern sense it would have been... Pentium 166MMX 32MB EDO RAM 1.6GB quantum Fireball HDD 1mb Diamond Stealth graphics card ISA sound card Windows 95 I got...

    Commodore Amiga owners thread!

I had to sell me CD32 when times were tough, I brought it down from the loft but it wouldn't boot, probably just a dodgy cap or drive motor, before that I had an A600 which was great. The prices of these things have shot up hugely now though and so getting a bargain is not too easy. I still try...

Your Appeal To All Things Retro?

For me it's not so much about the hardware, it's nice to own but it's much more convenient to emulate it and play with a wireless controller with upscaled graphics and be able to use save states if you wish. That said I do like to try and buy physical versions of old games I played if they are...
