Thanks, I've ordered some neodynium magnets from fleabay so hopefully they'll do the trick. I guess the temporary solution as you suggest is to place it as close to the pedal bolt as possible. Cable ties are horrible things though!! :p

Right, I just got my Edge 500 + HR + cadence. I've yet to attach the cadence sensor though. I've got Shimano cranks, and these have a sort of well running the length of them on the inside, so not a flat surface for fitting the magnetic sensor. I could fix it into the well with the sticky pad...

Is there much of an advantage in the Garmin Edge 510 over the Edge 500? I'm thinking of taking the splash, but finding it hard to justify the 510's price tag.
