    CPU limited or eco mode?

If you see a situation where neither your CPU nor your GPU are at 100% and you also are not game engine limited or limited by a software setting then it will generally be your memory that is the limiting factor, I would assume on a 5900X that you are running either 3200Mhz or 3600Mhz and just to...

Asus TUF Gaming B650-PLUS cpu error message.

This is because the CPU has been changed so the Firmware Trusted Platform Module has triggerd to say something is different here and if you use anything like finger print sensors, pin codes or Windows Hello to log in, it's operation is tied to TPM so it will default back to a password and you...

New GPU and CPU installed - Crippled PC

The last time I heard about something like this (although not the packet loss part) it turned out to be Asus Armory Crate doing it, removing that solved all the problems, though it was worth mentioning. Not a lot else I can say without some systematic process of testing different parts here.

New GPU and CPU installed - Crippled PC

Hehe well, I think this was a good example of enough knowledge to be dangerous but not quite enough to get out of jail :D ...glad it seems better now.

A Silver Surfer needs help in building a new PC please.

Oh yea a PD2700Q is fine, I was just a bit concerned you were going to be using this with something like your old 19" monitor, as I feel that wouldn't give you a good experience at all nor a 'modern' feeling one, you'ed still be editing like it's 2004 which isn't ideal.

Can I see how much my IGPU is being used vs dedicated?

By default in Windows. no you can't see this historically but you can see it in real time using task manager, assuming Windows 11 you can monitor your GPU usage via that so you can see which is being used at any given moment. Which gets used when can depend on if you have a Mux switch, driver...

A Silver Surfer needs help in building a new PC please.

I agree, throw out the mechanical hard drive, no point in those at that capacity anymore, you only really want to be using those if you are going to go for one that's got a much larger capacity, as in 12TB+ You can pretty much get a 2TB NVME drive for the price of the SSD and hard drive you...

how many cases have you had ?

Just for my main system I can think of 16 since 1997 when I did my first build. The first case was some beige Chenbro thing, the first good case was, also beige but a Globalwin 802 from OcUK in about 1999 or so. In total though for other systems I would have owned something like 30 cases in all...

Is coil whine just accepted now?

My 6950XT whines if it starts running hundreds or even more fps on a menu, so does my 6700XT and so did my 3070 and my old 1080Ti was even worse for it.

    new monitor 34"UW

Right now there is only one panel which is used by all of the options, the Dell/Alienware one can usually be had for the most competative price and it's the only one with burn in as part of it's waranty as far as I am aware. But, the Philips Evnia, Samsung and MSI models are all really good. As...

Next nvidia card after 3070 ..

So are you trying to justify buying a new card to us or yourself? ...my take is that if you don't actually have a problem with vram now, an actual problem that is limiting you ...then just wait until you do start to see one, because that may be far enough into the future that you can do better...

    G-Sync pulsar

Yea absolutely, I don't think it will make any difference to me or probably not in it's first form at least but if it helps push technology forward a little, great. I am old enough to remember the last days of the great CRT's an old enough to have appreicated that ...we've never quite been back...

Anyone run an UW with a 21:9 above it?

I have been considering doing the same thing, so I can't say yes to your question only that it's something I am looking at doing aswell, I would need the right sort of VESA arm to support that though, I know you can get ones to support this configuration but I don't want one that is just a fixed...

Is coil whine just accepted now?

Pretty much yes, It's a very good reason to keep your PC on the floor not on your desk, for me that means I can't hear it anymore as the case needs to be raised up and have an open path to my ears for me to be able to hear that frequency.

Random loss of power to peripherals

Yes but which one exactly or if you don't know that at least which chipset and series of CPU's is it, because this was a long standing issue with some B550 and X570 chipsets with the Ryzen 5000 series cpu's, or it sounds very much like that issue.

    CPU Upgrade Option

That seems a little steap for a 12600k now, I have seen the 13600kf (the kf drops the igpu and saves you a bit) drop to not far off that recently, you'll need to look but it would be a good bit faster than a 12600k, the 14600k really isn't faster than a 13600k in any meanigful way so I wouldn't...

    Easiest way to compare CPUs?

Gamer Nexus is pretty good for wide ranging multi-generational comparisons as are Hardware Unboxed. The nice thing about both is they do written content aswell so you don't necessarily need to watch a video to get this information. Hardware Unboxed is https://www.techspot.com/ and Gamer's Nexus...

X34P Ghosting all of a sudden - Generally getting on my nerves

When you say ghosting can you be a bit more specific about what you actualy seeing, as G-sync/Adaptive sync will not help with that and never has done, that technology is used to help with screen tearing that you can get when the rendered frames exceed the monitors refresh rate which is an...

    Gaming Monitor

1080P doesn't look great on a 27" display no but typically I would recommend people tweak a few settings and get a 1440P display rather than a 1080P one just to use 'Ultra' because the difference in resolution will make most things look much better in my experience and ...don't underestiamte...
