It's a terrible time to want to get into Flight Sim '20 (Joysticks)

No, just the stick. It has a small throttle on it anyway, and I wanted to set it up with the stick in my left hand and my mouse is in my right so I can navigate the MSFS menus and stuff (for ATC etc). Also, playing it in VR I can just look at the dials and switches and use the mouse to grab and...

Got my Airbus stick today. Great for the price and makes it so much easier to fly a plane than the keyboard numpad! Got all the buttons I need for the small prop planes I mainly fly, and use it in conjunction with the mouse for the VR menu.

It's a terrible time to want to get into Flight Sim '20 (Joysticks)

Yeah, I've read that's what happens. I know what I'm like though, I'll probably ride this phase for another few weeks until boredom sets in and I sell everything :D MSFS has certainly got me interested in genuine piloting though. Maybe my 'upgrade' will be real lessons when everything gets...

It's a terrible time to want to get into Flight Sim '20 (Joysticks)

Thanks Greebo. I ordered a Gladiator NXT for £150 earlier today, but I think that one looks like it's more suitable for a casual first-timer like myself (using it for MSFS). Better get cancelling the other one!

    Flight sticks?.

I've just ordered one of these after they came back in stock: https://flightsimcontrols.com/product/gladiator-nxt/ Heard good things.

I'm on the lookout too (for MSFS). A site had 10 T.16000ms in the other day, but went in a flash. I'm kicking myself for not buying, but thought it was a bit inflated at £139.99. Then again, probably not for such demand.

    population: one

Most guns I use, while it does come up with a fairly large crosshair for hip-firing, requires you to look down the sights for a more focussed aim. I'm still loving it, met some nice people online too. It's got that dangerous temptation of "just one more".

    Half-Life: Alyx

My FOV is fine, really. The same as any other Quest 2 game. This is my first VR headset, so I can't really compare. My IPD is 63mm, so I have it on 2. I find if I pull the straps a bit tighter I get a slight increase in FOV (at the risk of getting a headache :D). I've got a G2 on order though...

    Half-Life: Alyx

I've been playing it for the first time on my Quest 2 and it's nothing short of stunning. I've got an RTX 2070 and can thankfully run graphics on ultra, though I do get the occasional stutter here and there. Taking everything down to a high setting doesn't seem to make a difference, so it might...

I've had absolutely no issues at all with the standard head strap for my Quest 2. I never even think about it, just slip it on and it does the job. Granted, I don't really spend any longer than 30-45 mins playing at a time, but after that, it's more my eyes and brain I'm worried about than my...

The only reviews I can find are glowing, which made me feel like the odd one out because I just couldn't get with it. I only played Fortnite once, so never got into battle royale type games... however, after a few more goes Population One is growing on me. Debating whether to get a refund or...

    Quest 2, Which WiFi6 Router?

I spoke too soon. Turns out using WDS means it can bridge on that frequency, but not serve clients at the same time. So I'm snookered. Looks like I'll have to live with it the other way, enabling the USB wifi on my PC when I want to download stuff at max speeds.

After the initial excitement- are you going to keep your Quest 2?

I will until I receive an HP Reverb G2, but then again... if that doesn't blow me away, I might just keep the Quest 2. Extremely impressed with it so far, and excited to explore all sorts of applications for it (not just gaming). It's made me take notice of what is surely an impending virtual...

    Quest 2, Which WiFi6 Router?

Another update, but I think I've sorted this. I logged into the Virgin router interface and could see that the PC Netgear Wifi adapter (which gets me full internet speed) was connecting to the Virgin hub downstairs via 5ghz... which I thought was odd being in a different room in the house. The...

HP Reverb G2 uk release date?

It must be difficult for manufacturers to see similar products get released weeks/months before theirs (Quest 2). I bet they've been watching the user adoption extremely closely and perhaps even considered changing a few things, or maybe even trying to implement some last-minute additions to...

    Quest 2, Which WiFi6 Router?

Little update on my set up. It seems my AX6000 bridging the Wifi from the downstairs Virgin router works, but it reduces the internet speed by half. My USB Netgear adapter in my PC however, when connecting to the Virgin router downstairs, can get max internet speeds. There's obviously some sort...
