    Wireless Hard Drive?

Does your router have a USB socket? I thought most recent routers did, allowing all network attached devices to access the usb hard drive connected to it.

    Forza Motorsport (10/10/23)

Only problem like that i've seen is during a foggy race, track textures in my rear view mirror disappeared, leaving the following cars floating about in a white haze.

    Forza Motorsport (10/10/23)

Might be helpful to let others know I've found a fix, after I found other people complaining about this exact issue, the fix seems to be to reduce the res from 4k down to 1440p, and that works for me. I then tried 1800p, which works, and now im back up at 4k which is working perfectly seems to...

    New build 7800x3d + RTX4070

Final thank you for the suggestions made in this thread, I've been, bought and just finished initial build of my new system... Not swapped over the HDDs, SSD and NIC yet, just getting it all up and running clean. 7800X3D ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS MSI 7900XTX 64GB Ram Corsair (2x32GB 5600)...

    New build 7800x3d + RTX4070

I'm quite happy to leave out the 4x NVMEs, or at least some of them... they are currently used as the OS/Boot drive, id imagine a single modern PCI4 NVME boot drive will be just as quick as the 4 drives id be missing. Having looked at the intel power usage, the 7800X3D + B650 does seem to be...

    New build 7800x3d + RTX4070

Thanks for that, it is really food for thought, I'd basically settled on the AM5 setup as I thought that was currently the best, but, I will do some more research in the morning... With the hugely cheaper motherboard I could possibly push to the 13900kf to stick to the similar overall cost. As...

    New build 7800x3d + RTX4070

Fair enough, I did a little guessing about some of the price, just added the parts to my basket and i'm at around £2300. Thanks for the tip on 2x 32gb 5600 rather than 4x 16gb 6000, wasnt aware populating all 4 slots would be an issue.

    New build 7800x3d + RTX4070

Hi there, I'm looking for someone knowledgeable to point me in the right direction please, i've not built a new PC for about 8years now, since I got a Dell T7910 workstation (2x E5-2640v3, 128gb Ram, GTX1080, 4x18tb HDD WD Gold, 4x 4TB SSD Samsung QVO, 4x 1tb Samsung 960Pro NVME on a UltraSpeed...

How to make a big drive...

I personally buy WD Element 18TB drives when they are on offer ~£270 each, I run them still in their stock enclosure for a few weeks when they arrive to check they aren't DOA or have any issues... Then shuck the drives out, which will invalidate the warranty, these drives run cooler than stock...

How to make a big drive...

If you are going for a Drivepool type setup Id personally avoid the RAID version and go for the standard USB version, it's cheaper and as you're going to be controlling the drives in software as JBOD rather than RAID, it removes a layer of possible problems, for instance, if 1 drive fails in the...

How to make a big drive...

I'd recommend StableBits Drivepool for merging loads of smaller HDD into one large volume, their Scanner software also monitors the drive health, which can be handy when using older drives, giving failure prediction, and when both bits of software are used together it auto offloads recoverable...

    MAC Pro SSD upgrade

The 2009/2010 Macpro uses slide out trays to hold the HDDs and bolt to the underside 4 mounting holes on the drive, so you will need an adapter that has those rather than the side mount holes. I have an Icybox Mb882sp-1s-1b or similar which works perfectly. As for SSD I'd imagine a decent...

Requirements to utlilise an IBM EXN1000 (or alternative solution)

I bought a Dell R510 several years ago, which has held 12x4tb Sata drives and a pair of SSD for OS and apps. I'm sure you'd be able to pick one of those up for about that budget.

Bugbear NCG: Wreckfest now has real deal online Multiplayer.

Just revisited this after a few months, the December update has made this feel much closer to a game than previously. The career mode is still a WIP that needs context and balance, but, it is actually fun and rewarding.
