*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

What OCUK should have done was close pre-orders like other retailers and offer the option to transfer to other SKUs once existing orders are fulfilled. Other retailers are offering stock updates on their entire line-up and actively reaching out to customers on SKUs that are underserved; OCUK...

*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I'm officially out. I ordered an Eagle on launch day and have been appalled by the manner in which the situation has been handled. My father ordered from a competitor the same day and has been getting prompt information on orders and they are even allowing people to transfer orders if there are...

    Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

At the same time, most of those upgrading will be enthusiasts and are likely to upgrade in a few years anyway. That's how long my GTX 970 lasted, to be replaced with a GTX 1080 and now—likely—with a RTX 2080 Ti. I can get a decent price for my current graphics card, which helps offset the cost...

    Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

The thing that leads me to believe the price of the 1180 will be so high is that nVidia is sitting on a massive stockpile of GPUs after the collapse of the cryptocurrency market. Enthusiasts will stomach pretty much any price nVidia charges for the latest and greatest, whilst other buyers will...

The "worst" purchases you've ever made

Leap Motion - it looked great in the videos but real world it was useless. OCZ Vertex LE - failed after six months, the replacement even quicker.

Far Cry 4 - Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Which drivers are you using? The latest drivers are extremely unstable for me and a lot of other people.

    **THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

The 352.86 drivers are terribly unstable on the desktop. I've been getting regular messages informing me that the driver has stopped responding.

How much do you think the 390X will cost and will you buy it ?

I'm guessing AMD will price it aggressively, so £350 for regular and £425 for watercooled. Purchase? Unlikely, depends on benchmarks.

    FarCry 4 GTX 970

I'm getting 60fps at 1600p with a GTX 970 SLI setup, with Ultra settings and anti-aliasing. That's with the latest drivers for FC4. Therefore it should be okay at 1080p with a single card. Certainly I expect a few patches and driver updates will help with performance. I really didn't like the...

Directx 12 to not support Windows 7.

Windows 10 will likely be a cheap / free upgrade, meaning this isn't an issue like it was with Vista. I'm using the Technical Preview now and it's shaping up to be a decent OS and it doesn't even have the main features yet. Windows 8.1 was fine. The improvements on the desktop (Task Manager...

    970 or 980 reference for 1440p...?

I'm very happy with my GTX 970 SLI setup for 1600p but if you can afford to go for the GTX 980 and add another in the future then that's obviously preferable. That said, I opted for two cards now rather than going for the GTX 980 and adding another in the future. I'm glad I did, as there are...

    NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

I have a GALAX GTX 970 EXOC SLI setup with the cards in adjacent slots due to my motherboard. The other day during an intense gaming session the fans on the inner card stopped, causing my temperatures to increase (luckily I have EVGA Precision X running on my secondary monitor to keep an eye on...

AMD - Catalyst 14.3 Beta driver, Thief Patch featuring Mantle/TrueAudio, and fix for Vsync out now

One would assume it applies only to Crossfire setups, not setups with multiple cards for additional displays. Secondary would imply all non-primary cards, meaning 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. The low power state would presumably be ULPS, as that disables secondary cards in Crossfire when not in use.

Do you need 120FPS to make 120Hz smooth?

I'd love to have a 120Hz monitor but because they're all TN-panel based (poor viewing angles and colour reproduction) and are limited to 1080p I haven't considered it worth the trade-off. I have a 30" 1600p display and really love the quality and resolution it offers. As soon as we see IPS /...

Borderlands 2 release date confirmed ( Launch trailer also )

I used one of my keys early on before I realised what they were, though it gave me a decent gun that I used for about the next 10 levels. Now I'm saving the last key for when I reach max level to get higher level gear.

Borderlands 2 PhysX can be forced to run on the CPU

PhysX doesn't concern me one way or the other. I'd rather developers implemented a universal system through DX11 but when there's money involved that's too much to hope for. That said, the PhysX implementation in Borderlands 2 is the best I've seen to date and it really does add to the game -...

PowerColour Releasing Devil13 HD7990 In September

Thanks. See, those results are a lot more useful. Unfortunately it appears to be a real mixed bag. In some games it shows decent performance but in others it's thrashed by the 690 - Arkham City being an obvious example (I'm aware that it's an nVidia sponsored game). Considering that it's more...

    Sleeping Dogs performance

What card do you have? I have a 2560x1600 monitor with a GTX680 SLI setup and was trying to get an idea of how this game runs. I can cope with turning down the anti-aliasing quality to get the framerate up if the visuals are decent but only if it's because the game is demanding; I'm not...

PowerColour Releasing Devil13 HD7990 In September

I can understand why they include 1920x1080 results, as there are a lot of 120Hz monitors on the market, but it's bizarre that they'd omit 2560x1600. By focusing on such a limited range of resolutions (1080p and 1080p*3) the results are of little use and far from representative of their true...

Graphics card to drive 2560x1440 display

I haven't come across any issues yet, though obviously it is a concern going into the future. Ideally you'd want a 4GB card. However, most - if not all - the games I've tried work fine with MSAA 8X. And most games support FXAA which offers similar quality yet with much better performance. The...
