Turns out the USB disconnection is a fairly common error with 3080s. What I had to do was change the PCIe Gen from 4 to 3 in the BIOs and the weird USB behaviour immediately stopped.
Now I just have the remaining issue that the 3080 has killed my headphone outputs on my sound card. Research...
Anyone got a solution for this?
Me and a friend both started having an issue with an awful buzzing interference type noise coming through our headsets after getting 3080s, expecially under GPU load. We both have Asus DGX sound cards and 3080s from different AIBs but that's where the...
Well there's definitely somthing screwy going on, the threads in Prime95 keep crashing one by one due to a rounding error. I don't have an OC on this machine so that's odd why it's failing at stock
Although the PC has been up 30 mins now though without any stress on it and no sign of issues. I might fire up a stress test and see if anything arises
Yeah, I had that on previously while the AIO was being returned .... no issues at all.
However the only other addition is a 3080 while I swapped the cooler although I have a hard time believing that would be causing the USB disconnects. I do get crashing to desktop during gaming which I'm not...
Lookinf for some information on how to achieve the correct mounting pressure for my cooler.
So I've just installed the H100i Pro XT as a warranty replacement for the older H100i v2 and I've noticed that the mounting methods are different. With the older cooler the mounting screws bottomed out...
I had an absolute nightmare with the 570 Tomahawk and 3000 series CPU and had to return it, also a bunch of forgets on the MSI forms experiencing similar issues.
Gamer Nexus recently recommended the B550 Aorus pro (worth a watch to make sure) even over a bunch of X570 boards.
Sounds pretty definitive, have you had experience with both?
Not really worth ceiling ones in my current room unless a major redesign is in order, however if you say it must be done then I guess I best get stuck in
Some good points, everything's going well so far so going to hold off on further upgrades until I start with flexibles.
I've flashed marlin already but unfortunately you can't get mesh leveling in the v2 as there is no menu for it. Apparently there is an older custom version of the bios someone...
My room is far from symmetrical although I've done my best to lay everything out as well as possible, the next improvement would probably be to move house. Which I have contemplated
I think I'm more looking for an excuse to make the purchase if I think they'll make an impact.
Recently picked up an Ender 3 v2 and spent some time doing small upgrades (springs, hot end fix) same getting things dialled in. Just wondering on what people's thoughts are on the next most impactful upgrades would be.
Thoughts are circling around:
BL-Touch
Direct drive extruder
New board to...
Definitely worth calibrating this when you can (fairly easy to do with octoprint or same other way of sending commands to the printer). I checked recently and was under extruding by around 10%, I noticed that adhesion seemed better after with the initial filament not dragging as much.
I nearly pulled the trigger recently on a pair of Dali Alteco C1s but the reviews seemed pretty hit or miss. Some people saying it's amazing but others noticing little difference.
I know a lot will depend on the source material and the room acoustics but was wondering if anyone has had much...
I was horrified to see a thunder fly crawl across my old screen not long after buying it. I put on a black background and spent 30 mins coaxing him back to the edge following the mouse cursor before he died under there. Was so relieved when it actually worked ☺️
Yeah I'll look to try invest in one, I'll likely be sticking with DP for the next several years anyway. Even if it doesn't solve this problem, it will all ensure that the cable is ruled out of the equation.
That's kinda rdiculous though. I understand where you're coming from but if they can't give me a cable of adequate quality with an £1k monitor then I'm not sure that's a company I'd want to buy from again. Gotta wonder what other corners have been cut.
It's seemingly an issue the techs are...
Not sure at all if it's certified, it came with my previous monitor. I wouldn't have thought it isn't up to the job as maxed out 1440p @165hz should surely require more bandwidth that 3440x1440 @ 120hz right?
Unless there are other factors that come into play here I'm not aware of. I can swap...
I definitely think the card is fine as it's worked flawlessly with my previous gsync monitor @165hz for 3 years. Started happening almost immediately with this new monitor.
Nice to know there's a fix but £800 seems a little steep to do so. I'm just dumbfounded Dell could release this knowing it...
