Roccat Valo - First impressions + Problems (yes, thats right)

I somehow doubt it. This problem has been known for over half a year - it should have gotten priority over everything else because it's a major deal breaker for most people. The fact that it hasn't been fixed yet means either a) they can't fix it b) it's not a priority In case of (a) we're...

Roccat Valo - First impressions + Problems (yes, thats right)

Well I fell victim to this keyboard as well. It whines with backlight turned on, the keyboard does NOT work before you enter Windows (so you can't use it when Windows crashes) and I constantly have missing key presses. I got to unplug it every 15 minutes!!! Contacting them gave me a "we're...

Vista - Worth the jump yet?

It's not a problem with a DX9 game, it's a problem with the setup that does a straight check for something which no longer exists in Vista - I believe it's a part of dxdiag or so.

Vista - Worth the jump yet?

pp My experiences with Vista - installing it was a breeze. Barely any user input was needed and it was quite fast too - loved the sidebar at first, but later removed it. It's handy for some people but just like the Mac version of it, it's just a gimmick with little actual use since you...

    Vista & folder info

Hmm I'm still using a trial-stopped version of Vista though - I haven't installed the store bought version yet, so you never know. I didn't feel like reinstalling everything all over again after I bought it but maybe I'll do a clean install soon. Still, right now it's driving me crazy and a...

    Vista & folder info

It doesn't work though, I tried that. In Windows XP it worked, but in Vista it seems to change the settings whenever you move a folder, rename it or when you unpack a new one. Part of my hobby is cataloging tested DOS games (Dosbox beta tester) so I constantly have to pack and unpack, move...

    Vista & folder info

In Vista, one thing has been driving me over the wall and that's the extremely buggy feature which guesses what kind of folder you have. In theory this sounds good, but in practice, it means that if you got a folder with a few pictures, it will take it as a "Pictures & Video" folder and since I...

Good choice - it's money well invested.

    20 to 22 or 24 inch ?

Haha I'm hope you're right that it's just "a bit" of slowdown ;) Try running Gothic 3 in any resolution near 1680x1050 with even a 8800GTS :P

    Belinea 19" Widescreen...Slight ghosting?

When your screen has odd things showing, 9 chances out of 10 it's connected with your VGA / DVI cable. Always check your cable first - I thought that was the logical thing to do ;) Hell, at work one of our screens went green while I was home ill for a week and they had called the IT service...

    20 to 22 or 24 inch ?

For me, I think 22" is about the most ideal resolution. Go higher and you'll lose support from games or your graphics card will quickly start to struggle with future games and neither is any good. I even fear for my own 22" when Crysis will be released - the 1:1 aspect ratio setting will stop...

Does DELL 2407WFP include a DVI cable in the box?

You're also forgetting that the UK has a seperate power plug from the rest of the EU - if they want their packs to work for the UK and EU they would have to add two different power plugs too.

ATI V's Nvidia not the obvious question

In any case, ATI need to brush up their image. Maybe ditch their old fashioned logo and pick a new, modern one (I never liked ATI's logo myself). If you consider how many games advertise nvidia and how little attention ATI is getting ... ATI needs to work on it.

ATI V's Nvidia not the obvious question

It's the perceived reliability that counts though. ATI was known to be unreliable before the 9800 Pro - I remember that was the general idea about ATI. As I said, Nvidia didn't have many *well known* lapses. Personally, I have had a GeForce 2MX, a GeForce 3, a Geforce Ti4200, a Geforce...

    Pick a card

It's too bad you can't go the extra bit to get a DX10 card - still it's good value for money to get the ATI one. Just a bit of a shame you can't give him a bit more future-proof hardware.

ATI V's Nvidia not the obvious question

Hmm I think it's more than the shaders. From what I see around the net, people trust ATI less. I think people believe that games will be more compatible with Nvidia cards. And, to be honest, most are. The only ATI card I had was a 9800 Pro which was the best selling ATI card ever as far as I...

    Should I upgrade my Audigy?

NO. Do NOT upgrade at the moment. Unless you intend to stick with XP indefinitely. The current line of sound cards of Creative are a disaster in Windows Vista when it comes to drivers and support. I have an Audigy 2 myself but it's not much better for X-Fi. There's no software yet that lets you...

New 158.16 xp 32bit Nvidia Drivers

Flat panel scaling works as of now for me - it didn't work with the previous release so I dunno if you did something wrong or not. But yeah, I'm sure the drivers are still lacking.
