I play a console for things like battlefield so really it will mostly be used for things like shogun/dayZ (friend of mine has recently got me hooked) I know it's CPU demanding so would a high clocking intel be better than a high clocking amd? Just need an idea.

Look for a used 1ds mk2. I got lucky and picked up one last month for £500 from eBay It will out do the 5D although only downside is small screen and ISO is rubbish compared to a 5D mk2 or above You ll be blown away by the autofocus though!

I bought a bridge cam and used it for about a year to learn before I jumped into the deep end with slrs but honestly I would just save up and go for a slr because as stated you will soon wish you could change the lens on a bridge camera and only have to upgrade at a later date.

just so you know that ram wont work with that set up as its duel channel and you need tri channel. If you went i5 / i870 or amd route it would be fine on the otherhand =)
