Hasn't happened again yet, will have to see how it goes. Restarting always clears the problem, and it might not even happen again now for a day or two.

Hooked up to a Dell UW3417 Just swapped the DP to Mini DP cable for a decent HDMI one.

well latency is about 30ms in game and just played a few now with no issues so think problem resolved
