AMD Zen 3 (5000 Series), rumored 17% IPC gain.

High efficiency usually leads to a cooler running system. A lot of people are on ITX builds so lower heat output is always a good thing!

Monitor refresh 144hz - but one time booted with lower value.

If you are only using 144Hz, I'd suggest using CRU to remove the other unused refresh rates.

    Pull the trigger or wait?

    This.

Recommend me a graphics card pls

I stand corrected (should have looked a bit closer). Hmm did get me interested in switching to a Vega 56. ;)

Recommend me a graphics card pls

At that resolution it definitely isn't overkill. If you want something cheaper and almost as good - take a look at second hand GTX 980 Tis. You'll lose freesync ofc, but it does use less power than the Vega 56, and there are plenty of quiet options out there. You could also try undervolting the...

Recommend me a graphics card pls

Easy choice at that resolution: Vega 56. Not sure why the GTX 1070 would be ideal especially considering your freesync monitor?

    guessing this is dead?

lolwut? (conductivity is very low for distilled water and even lower for deionized water, but that changes quite quickly). Clean the card and replace any broken parts. Could still be fine. Lots of great soldering tutorials on youtube.

    VEGA 64 UK PRICES

That would be my guess also. Maybe over 40MH/s with the right tweaks (both from AMD and developer). Probably an attempt by the manufacturer to get miners interested and snap them up before seeing the real performance(if they were close to 100MH/s getting one on day one would be every miner's top...

    VEGA 64 UK PRICES

They said nowhere near 100MH/s, so my guess would be closer to 40MH/s (like the FE).

    VEGA 64 UK PRICES

Why would miners buy them? Pretty sure TweakTown already confirmed the RX Vegas aren't going to be great cards for mining.

** The AMD VEGA Thread **

Hmm with the hash rate being nowhere near 100 MH/s does that mean we won't be seeing insanely inflated prices? Combined with the insane PSU requirements and expected lowish performance (<gtx 1080 ti) - what exactly is the selling point of these cards? Is freesync the only thing? Based on the...

    @Gibbo - Vega Preorders?

Could be a really smart marketing trick to get rid of stock they otherwise would have trouble selling. :p

Everyone can run into issues with cards, but I wouldn't blame nvidia for any of them. Why not try an EVGA card as they seem to have the best support available of any AIB?

27" 1440p monitor choice for photo editing

MG279Q is pretty decent if you manage to find one without dead pixels and horrible BLB, so that's the one I would go for (just buy it from a store that accepts returns because chances are that you are going to be returning a few)!

    Which calibrator ?

I own the Colormunki Display and regret not spending a bit more for the i1 Display Pro(wasn't in stock at the time nor was I patient enough to wait a couple of days), even though they are basically exactly as accurate (i1 Display Pro is faster though, and can be used with most...

I thought the whole point of freesync 2 would be to up the ante and actually rival g-sync monitors, but apparently not. :( Hopefully we'll see other manufacturers release their Freesync 2 monitors soon. Some good news at least: Rapid Packed Math fp16 to be used in FM Serra, Wolfenstein 2 and...

Was thinking about the 27" too, but 80-120Hz freesync range and no VESA support makes me a sad panda. :(

NEW SAMSUNG GAMING 49", 32" & 27" CURVED HDR, 144Hz, WQHD LIKE A BOSS MONITORS!!

The 27" 1440p looks like an amazing monitor, but then you look at the specs and notice the freesync range being only 80-120 Hz (wtf?) and the monitor being curved with no VESA support. Thought the whole point of Freesync 2 would be to make sure the monitors used a wider frequency range!
