So, anyone got an iRobot Roomba or other robot vacuum cleaner?

I think it was on Reddit in the Roborock sub. Unsure why it isn’t available in the UK though?

So, anyone got an iRobot Roomba or other robot vacuum cleaner?

100%. I've tried to order it from Amazon DE and keeps getting rejected. I'm mixed feelings about it - seen some sketchy reviews where it is an amazing robot, then just fails after a few weeks.

    Heated clothes driers

We’ve gone with a Lakeland heated fan pod - Drysoon, I believe. Seems to do a good job, I’m not leave the clothes a little crispy!

    Spec me a CCTV System

Typically external grade cabling is UV resistant so if no direct sunlight exposure then no need for the upgraded sheathing. I’m totally with you on hidden cables - I’d have done these installs myself if it weren’t for my 1960s house having asbestos eaves where you’d drill into/through.

So, anyone got an iRobot Roomba or other robot vacuum cleaner?

We’re looking for a robot vacuum as we find that we go a month between using our swanky new Dyson v1000 with laser dirt detection. That was a good buy… All upstairs is carpeted apart from the bathroom; the stairs is very steep and carpeted so that is a concern if it goes over the edge - it’s a...

    Kitting out for vocal performer

That's awesome! Thanks Charlie. Your setup looks to be what I'd be looking to purchase, however I must ask, how much did that set you back? The Curv 500 ES System looks excellent, but how do the tweeters work as they have no cables or power? The lights sound like a great idea and will give a...

    Kitting out for vocal performer

Hello dear ocukers. I am looking to get some equipment together for a solo vocalist but am woefully out of my depth. I am need a solution that can allow an iPad to use for audio backing tracks, which gets mixed with a live mic and output to a PA system. It would be good if the iPad could be...

    Dabbling in Buffer Overflows

Hi guys, I've recently been having relatively good success at remote buffer overflow as I learn about pen-testing online services, however, I've really run aground in my learning. Once I've connected with the poorly constructed service via netcat on Kali, I've deduced that 24 bytes is the...

PSU recommended for new build (4090)

Hello, I’m looking to make a new system and have got most of my parts. The last piece I need is a suitable PSU. My system has 64GB RAM, i9, 4090, 1 x 30” monitor, 3 x SSD (1 X NVMe). I was considering a few things, firstly product availability, compatibility with the graphics power...

    A good flusher!

Hi, I’m after recommendations for a good toilet. Over the years we’ve tried many types - from rectangular B&Q toilets, Kohler toilets and a few in between, but we’ve not yet found one that is a brilliant flusher (I.e can survive punishment and remove the evidence in a flush, hitting all areas...

Gone to wall mount TV and soundbar....

I always worry about TVs above fires - whether electric, spirit or gas. It surely cannot be too healthy for the hardware to be in the convection currents of a fire?

Gone to wall mount TV and soundbar....

These skirtingboard covers should help you with your cabling issue. I used them to good effect in the office to get power to a side of the room that had no sockets...

    *** Official SONOS Thread ***

Hilariously as if my Sony 2.1 sound bar knew we were considering swapping it up for an Arc, Bluetooth stopped working on Friday and today the remote died. Within the hour we had an Arc from Curry’s to replace it! Amazing kit, just need to get a Sub now. it appears I cannot stack Bluelight...

    *** Official SONOS Thread ***

If you do the Trade-Up, what happens with the kit that you ‘trade’? Do you send it in, or does it get firmware nuked by Sonos? Also do you know if the discount code stacks with other codes (Black Friday, Bluelight Card etc)?

    Sonos Sub and Arc

Looking to replace our current Home Cinema audio system to tie in with our current house kit. I’ve been reading reviews that this system isn’t perfect and adds potential problems with delays etc. Has anyone any experience with it? for info, our current 2.1 system that is failing is connected...

*The Official PlayStation 5 (PS5) Thread*

Well the effect is a full horizontal slur - like v-sync issue on a PC. In game and in cutscenes occasionally.

*The Official PlayStation 5 (PS5) Thread*

My TV ( LG OLED55C8PLA) only has HDMI 2.0, and I’m using port 4, not the HDMI ARC ports. So I’ll experiment with modes and ports too.

*The Official PlayStation 5 (PS5) Thread*

Has anyone encountered any issues with games (Valhalla) having visual distortion/slur during cut scenes? Using PS5 disk model, standard PS5 HDMI cable and LG OLED55C8PLA TV. I’m thinking HDMI cable supplied with PS5 is not good enough?

Unifi - compatibility check for upgrade

Our concern is that the bandwidth is slower than Gigabit on the normal UDM versus the Pro ( believe limited via the IDS/IPS).

Unifi - compatibility check for upgrade

Well that keeps things simple-ish... Only issue is the server rack (patch panels etc) are in the office loft and we only have one hard wired cat6 cable that terminates in a rj45 jack at the ONT, yet there is kit at the ONT that needs to be on the same network. As it all needs wiring in, I’m...
