3070 system for gaming - upgrade now or later?

At this point I would just wait - probably be less than 9 months now before we get 5000 series.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

    Same paid £1,300

Sale price across multiple retailers. Perhaps that becomes the new RRP but right now that is £479.99. My post was talking about RRP (should've made that more clear).

Haha - the most basic of marketing moves :p The PS5 disc is currently £480, with the digital coming in at £390. I expect those to come down a little - maybe not as much as I have put in my post.

Yeh that I can agree with although I would say: - PS5 slim digital- £329 - PS5 slim disc - £399 - PS5 Pro - £599 I feel like the disc drive will come down in price.

Got a bet with a friend that this will launch at a max of $699 USD - can't be more than that surely? :o

    How much are you wearing?

Excluding my watch, probably about £50 - I like simple clothing (except sneakers - I do like Jordans so have just a few pairs of those).

Degree Apprenticeship (Digital Technology Solutions Bsc) or University (Computer Science Bsc)

I'm just going to add to my original comment. I have woked for over 10 years as a Product Manager working closely with engineers etc. My work experience has been far more important than my degree. I've also been involved in hiring PMs and supporting hiring of engineers - experience was always...

Degree Apprenticeship (Digital Technology Solutions Bsc) or University (Computer Science Bsc)

I would go for the one with no debt personally. I did a Computer Science degree but if I had that apprenticeship option that would be a no brainer. Especially with work experience to go with it.

    5600 to 5950X upgrade

From an earlier reply "Usually normal productivity but can often have multiple design tools open as well (Figma etc) and I'm starting to dabble in some content creation (rendering etc while gaming). I'm also getting more involved in the AI space because of work, so will dabble in Virtual...

    ** LG ULTRAWIDE MEGA DEAL - 38GN950P-B 3840x1600 NANO IPS 160Hz 1ms - SAVE £500 **

Nice monitor, might have been better than the 45" OLED Ultra wide I got, but also happy with that.

    5600 to 5950X upgrade

I hear you, but as explained I use my PC a lot for productivity. In all honesty I do that way more than actual gaming on it.

    5600 to 5950X upgrade

Yeh would be great if all I have to do is drop the chip in

    5600 to 5950X upgrade

Yeh great shout! That's what I'm thinking - may even be able to jump to AMDs next platform if this setup last along enough, but more likely I'm jumping onto a more mature AM5 as you say. The PSU is probably a consideration for both use cases TBH. Money saved not going to a new platform may mean...

    That's what I'm thinking :)

    5600 to 5950X upgrade

I get what you're saying but it doesn't need to be apples to apples (not being argumentative, hear me out). One is a straightforward low admin swap, the other a proper platform change. I just have a mental block here going to a new platform (and spending more overall because I would want a...
