Bought some new components - how much did I mess up with memory timings?

This video is exactly what I wanted to see. Can see that we are looking at maybe 1-2fps difference, if any. In some places it makes no difference. I'm comfortable with that. Unfortunately, I've already received it. I can still return it though. I think I'm going to keep it - that difference...

Bought some new components - how much did I mess up with memory timings?

Hi. I like to play Amazon New World and currently run a AMD 2700x with a Geforce 3070. I'm not getting great FPS (Dropping down to about 15 regularly) and so I've decided it's time for a new processor/motherboard/memory. In a bit of a hurry at the time (there was a today only offer on and I...

Eero announces a Wifi 7 tri band router

The lower latency of Wifi 6E and 7 makes me want to upgrade my three Eeros (2nd generation), but the cost of these things is feels a bit crazy. With my older ones they keep trying to sell me the 'plus' monthly subscription to be able to change various settings at £99 per year or £9.99 a month.

    IMPORTANT: Members Market access

Oh. I really enjoyed the member's market here - I've lost access and have been around on these forums from time to time for a long time. Guess I'm not far off the requirements. A few posts to go before I can find out how much my old PC is worth to sell it!

Advice on a monitor setup for MacBook Pro 2021

Hi, I'm struggling a bit because I don't really know too much about monitors anymore, but I do sit looking at one all day. Do you know of any USB-C/thunderbolt monitors that take dual usb-c inputs and are either 40"+ or can be daisy chained together? Background info I have two MacBook Pros...

    Newbie...society website

Answering these two questions may help - in my heads I see them separating 2k from 10k and aren't clear from your original message: - What are your timescales looking like? - What's the cost of downtime - is resiliency important? How much data are you prepared to lose in the event of a failure...

Finding the right monitor for me (Help needed please!)

I've pulled the trigger on the Philips 346B1C. It was close between that and the BenQ. The BenQ I read some issues with about charging macbooks, so although it does have better colours I ended up going for the Philips. I'll post up some pictures and a review of it when it has arrived and is set...

Finding the right monitor for me (Help needed please!)

346B1C looks cracking. Does everything I need it to. It's a shame it isn't higher resolution, but it's higher than what I'm used to (1080p). It has USB-C, isn't super expensive, and it does support PBP (though perhaps switching sources is fine too as there's a button you can assign to switch...

Finding the right monitor for me (Help needed please!)

I ordered the G34WQC from OcUK then found a thread about stock and people waiting months, so I'm back to the drawing board. There's also the 35WN75C, which is 100mhz and usb-c, but that's also out of stock everywhere. I'll have a look at the 346B1C and AW3821DW. I'm not absolutely set on an...

Finding the right monitor for me (Help needed please!)

I really like the look of that BenQ, and hadn't thought of a USB soundbar but that's a great idea too. PBP isn't essential really, as long as I can switch between inputs quickly. I tend to use a separate keyboard and mouse for them (mainly because of the cmd button on the mac). Thanks for the...

Finding the right monitor for me (Help needed please!)

Hi, I've never had much success with monitors, and this time I'd like to ask for some advice before taking the plunge and spending a lot of money. I've spent an awful long time (literally hours and hours) researching, and I feel I'm still missing something. Any help would be really appreciated...

Looking for a good Monitor + GPU for about £1,000 to £1,200

Hi, I'm a software engineer and so get a huge amount of use of my computer and screen. I also play games, specifically I'm really looking forwards to playing Cyberpunk 2077 and Amazon New World, as well as a lot of rocket league. I have a Nvidia 970 at the moment, and a 35" Asus predator...

Anyone know how to wire a smoke alarm with a few minutes spare to help please?

Hi, In our house we have 2 smoke alarms. One upstairs on the landing and one downstairs in the hallway. They've both been damaged by plasterers/dust, and so go off when they shouldn't. We've got a 1 year old, and waking up to a false alarm from the smoke alarm and a screaming baby isn't a fun...

    Help With Ram

Hi - I'm in the exact same boat, with the exact same memory as you budweiser28 (See my thread here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/question-about-compatability.18879231/). Maybe you could sell yours to me, or I could sell mine to you, and the other one of us picks up a new 32gb kit...

    Question about compatability

Hi, I'd really appreciate if someone can just sanity check my plan for me. I've just got a new game which requires a lot of memory to be available, causing me to need to close a bunch of things before starting it. I'm a software engineer and tend to leave IntelliJ, docker, some chrome tabs...

CPU, RAM, SSD BLACK FRIDAY / CYBER MONDAY DEALS!!

I got rather confused because you are right, I was comparing the 16gb bundle to the 8gb bundle. The 16gb bundle isn't £511.97, but is £578.96. I'm not quite sure what's going on with the pricing though, because at the moment the parts separately cost less than the bundle. I think what I've...
