    Who here owns a Mini?

Its been a while since I updated on my F56, theres been a few niggles I need to sort and parts are piling up. I have front and rear JCW brakes to fit to this however they wont fit under the current stock wheels. So friday night I decided to start wheel shopping and came across a set of Autec...

    Who here owns a Mini?

Hi same engine as my Paceman, 2.0 turbo diesel N47, as you say these suffer with timing chain issues similar to the petrol and was the reason why mine was seized. Not seen too many EGR/DPF issues. Just ensure it gets a good blast and good servicing on these, just like the petrols of this...

    Who here owns a Mini?

They are rare, if I remember rightly on the the V5 a factory JCW is listed as a John Cooper Works, if it says Cooper S its not a JCW.

    Who here owns a Mini?

Timing chain is the big one which sounds like its been sorted. Thermostats tend to leak on these and the coolant tanks crack with age. Decoking is recommended but again that's been done swell. Regular servicing is what these require, some tend to burn oil. Is it a genuine JCW or an S with a...

    Who here owns a Mini?

So I've added to the Mini collection, I decided to break my R56 as I started to get engine issues and any that know the N14, I just couldnt be bothered and it was worth way more in parts. So I replaced it with a crash damaged 2015 F56 Cooper S as a project and have recently added a 2014 all4...

Home Car Ramp Recommendations / Experience

Yes as it raises, there is a locking bar on both sides with a cam on the end of it, it locks in place at 2/3 points/heights. To lower it again, you raise the ramps slightly with the button, then rotate the cam on the end of the locking pole so it rolls over the locking points and lowers down...

    GT86/GR86/BRZ

Not quite a GT86, but going to sneak this in here anyway as its pretty much the same car. I'm still loving mine, really fancy adding forced induction at somepoint but currently just enjoying it. Its my 3rd one and this one has lasted the longest as I've built it exactly how I want it. Its not...

Home Car Ramp Recommendations / Experience

Heard some good things about scissor jacks, but as mentioned if you car is low it could be an issue. I went for quickjacks as I am always working on my own projects and refuse to go under a car on just axle stands or jack a car up solely on trolley jacks having seen so many people get it wrong...

    Mini countryman SD

Codes relate to MAF air sensor, EGR and glow plugs. When was the last time it was serviced? You may want to clean the EGR and may sensor.

    MINI convertible advice

100% go for the 3rd gen, later n18 2nd gens are more reliable than the n14's, but as Fox said, the 2nd gen is so outdated now compared to the 3rd gen, if you can afford gen its a better car all round

    Who here owns a Mini?

LSD wise it was an optional extra that dealerships didnt push so not many had the. There is no real way of telling by looking at anything on the car, they dont put any stickers etc other than trying to do a burn out and seeing if one wheel doesnt spin. Or you decode the VIN online or at a...

    Who here owns a Mini?

Hi here is some text I pulled together on another forum, this covers the R56 N14 JCW and what is has different to the Cooper S very similar if not the same for N18: Maximum power of 155kW (211 bhp) at 6000 rpm, and 260 Nm of torque (280 with overboost) This is achieved by means of a new: -...

    Who here owns a Mini?

Loving the blue on that, I have been looking into the new F54 JCW which is the 300bhp 4wd version that has the engine from the new BMW 135i X-drive. 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds its the fastest Mini ever built in a straight line(Before I get told the GP3 has the same engine and handles better, its...

    Who here owns a Mini?

Uh oh, I did it again this time an R56 hatch, something I have never modded before so look forward to seeing what I can do with this one. I picked up the new one in April. I had one briefly for 3 months before I found out my girlfriend(now wife) was pregnant and panic swapped it for a Qashqai...
