You forgot to post the time :p

Thats good going. Whos been your best buy?

Found any good talent?

I signed some guys called Lee Paul and Eifion Williams, Lee Paul scored 45 in the first season, and 30 in the second before selling him for £230k.

Eifion has been utterly banging them in, i play him as a loan striker, as well as penalty and freekick taker, hes scored 2 a game.

Problem is, they are both fairly old (30-36).

Other than that, Ashley Robinson from Palace has been great for me, signed him on a free, along with a keeper Henrik Grannes.

I'm watching the cricket on Sky Sports and trying to stay up for the GP live. Have just been thinking about FM09 and what SI will do. Will it refine and hone on FM08 or will SI introduce some new features into FM09?

What new features would you like to see in FM09? Can be in any area, the game itself, the interface, options available to the human player such as in contract/transfer negotiations or even the editor.

I'd like to see an option in FM09 where I as manager can offer a player I want to sign a certain number shirt. So say there is a player who has the number 11 at his current club or the number 7 for his country then I'd like to be able to offer him the number 11 at my club. I'd also like to see players ask for a certain shirt number, so perhaps if I want to sign a player, he'll sign if I offer him a certain squad status, wages, bonuses/signing on fees but also I have to give him a certain shirt number for him to sign.

I'd also like the game engine to recognise if a player in my squad needs say a goal for 50 career goals or a goal for 10 goals in the season he will get chosen ahead of my penalty takers if I win a penalty. Even if the player isn't on my penalty takers list I'd like to see him take the kick. It'd also be nice if you could see players argue who should take a free kick or penalty to perhaps reflect their ambition or ego. So perhaps Ronaldo and Rooney could argue who takes the free kick and the captain has to step in and enforce my choice of free kick taker.

So what would you like to see in FM09 or perhaps what would you like SI to take out of FM09 that was in FM08 or an earlier game?

More realistic transfers.
If i put Kaka up for sale i shouldnt be having no clubs interested.
On the same note, i shouldnt be having some small fry team reject £10m+ bids for a player.
We all know that that wouldnt happen in real life, yet it does in game.

Same with bidding for players at big clubs.
Bar 2-3 players in real life, every player has a reasonable price.
If Milan offered Arsenal £30-40m for RVP in real life, they'd snap their hands off.
Yet in FM, Arsenal aparentely want £85m for him!?

The ability to specify what type of loan situation is available for loanees. If i offer a player out on loan, i want to specify before hand that only first team loans are accepted, and not 'backup to first team'.

And the ability for the AI to not cheat.
I swear that the AI knows things i dont.
Tied into my 2nd point, but often i find a player who's worth 10k that my scouts say is worth a look at, yet the AI want £20m+ for him!?
Or on the flipside, im constantly paying big bucks for substandard players, yet my rivals play a pittance for players that no-ones heard of, from clubs that no-one heard of, and in 5 games they're worth £20m!!!
Its not as if its a scouting problem on my part either.
And my scouts are useless. All of my scouts are rated above 18/18 in CA/PA, yet i get told players are worth the megabucks, only to end up turning into a dud!

Yep. :)

True. :) The only players in the league who would cost more than £50m in all likelihood are your Rooneys/Ronaldos/Gerrards/Terrys etc.

Yeah that would be good. I hate loaning players out, normally only reserve team players anyway, to teams and then finding out they are never played. If someone is going to loan a Man Utd reserve player why don't you play them? We've heard of people who've played a FM game as a club linked to Utd and managed to promote themselves thanks to the loaning of many Utd players.

Yep. I hate that. Take Amauri for example, Chelsea keep buying him for £20m or so in my game but I can't even offer enough money above £30m to offer him a contract.

Oh yeah. This is quite annoying. I scout say Arsenal's youth/reserves to see if there are any gems I can steal off Wenger nice and cheap. Scouts say this player will be very good so I get him. And he isn't.

I have to say that scouts are pretty useless aswell.

I have one of mine scouting ther premier league for a couple of experianced players and Rochemback came up as maybe a good singing but reading through the report it said that he is twice the player of some 17 year old in my U18 team and im thinking to myself what the hell is the point of reccommeneding him if he is being compared to some one in my U18 team.

Thankfully though I managed to get myself four excellent singings from Spain thanks to one of my scouts.

Just thought of something else I'd like to see in FM09, the ability to loan a player back to a club I've just bought him from. So say I sign a promising 18 year old defender I'd like to loan him back to the club as part of the transfer deal.

Lawl :D

Season 2021/22 is shaping up to be quite interesting. Currently set to progress further in the UEFA Cup, in joint 3rd place in the Premiership, 3 points behind leaders with game in hand, also in 6th round of FA Cup but will prob get knocked out by Liverpool at Anfield.

Oh and as you may have noticed from my attendance, The Waywell Arena has been substantially developed to a 52,000 all seater stadium. Managed to get all my coaching 7 stars and am looking to maximise my training and youth facilities. Currently still only average! :D

That'd be very handy.
I often buy players who are getting games week in/week out at their current club, and i cant guarantee them the same at my club as they are for the future.
At the moment, we get lumped with loaning them out to substandard teams, if at all.:(.

How have you got the 7 stars in all areas?
Is that 7 stars in all areas, constantly?
As i technically get 7 stars in all areas, but if i re-auto catagorise my coaches, those 7 stars move to other areas?

Ive just spend £34m, on 14 youth players!! :-o
A perfect example of why i'd want to keep them at their existing clubs.:(.

Followed a guide on SI Forums. Only have one coach appointed to each of the 9 training areas. So for 7 star shooting you need that coach to have 18 Attacking, 18 Technique / 19 Attacking, 14 Technique / 20 Attacking, 10 Technique.

I just set the coaches up myself.

Link to guide?
Might have a look at that myself.

I sign all my coaches as coaches, so they can do youth and senior. Good or bad idea?

Won the Premiership :D
Won the FA Cup :D
Lost in the UEFA Cup final against Roma. Controversial penalty setting them on the way to a 3-2 win :(

Still, can't scoff at a double!

Congrats. Thats a pretty good feat, admittedly you are quite far into the game, but even so, well done.

Out of interest, whats the current locations of all the big teams in the game now? Surely some must be in the lower divisions of English football by now?

I am always interested in knowing how the game AI favours teams in other peoples games.
