Is there anyway of finding out what a chip should clock like by the stepping?

Only half reliable way of working out the potential of these q6600's is to check the VID. Knowing the stepping isn’t that helpful anymore, I’ve seen Q6600's of the same batch clock totally different.

Ah right, my VID is ok 1.2875 I think.

It will boot at 3.8Ghz but isnt prime stable, 3.5 is the best I can get prime stable, going to push for more next week.

if I was a clever supplier ..

I'd sell Q6600 cherry picked by VID ...

I'd happily pay more for a lower VID one ... just to save electricity for one !!

Just installed my watercooling, got my Q9300 up to 480FSB now not done 8hr prime but had it on for a couple of hrs.
Gonna see if I can push further but I doubt it as using a lot of volts
1.7nb, 1.37 vcore, 1.6 pll, 1.5 fsb term and 1.2 sb
