ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition: The Ultimate LGA2011 Motherboard

Well... There have been full "retail" samples gone out to overclockers such as 8pack and others around the globe now over 6 weeks ago so all of it is built. I honestly don't know what the hold up is. Very disappointing to be honest. Apologies for here at OcUK, any updates we are getting are being forward on to you guys, issue is at the moment we aren't getting very much in the way of actual updates :(

We know it isn't OCER'S fault it just one of those situations where having no info leads to speculation which generally leads to the wrong conclusion lol :)

Maybe a nice black friday discount on this black edition board would be nice :)

No need to apologise as you guys have kept us informed and lack of information is down to ASUS. :)

You can understand our frustration as we now see people across the Atlantic with the board already shipped. It would be much appreciated if you could post any update in here as soon as you have one. :)

I think its absolutely outrageous and the only fair solution is free boards to everyone in the thread.

Anything less and i'll have to write a very strongly worded letter. Be warned :p

Thanks for the update (or lack of thanks to Asus) Andrew however still very disappointed they haven't been shipped yet especially when they are readily available in the states.

Couldn't complain if there was a black Friday for the black edition boards though, would make the wait slightly more comfortable our end.

Whilst I agree the lack of info is the fault of Asus - the OcUK preorder has been running since September . This preorder was clearly wildly premature and nearly 3 months later there is still no sign of the orders being fulfilled.

I dont want to cancel my order now (epecially as the only real alternative the RIVE is not now available) but think it is only fair that our money is refunded and only redebited when our orders are actually being processed and shipped to us.....

I really want this board but now I feel kind of tinged that ASUS are getting my money that a company with such low lvls of customer support being considered one of the best is frankly appauling. No other business would survive such delays except PC's cause people would just go elsewhere I wish gigabyte had some real ivy-e contenders im scouting new boards im not willing to wait forever for this board.

I wouldnt bother i would just stick with what you have and wait for haswell e next year. There is noway i would buy any other 2011 socket so late into its life.
Haswell e will have ddr4 memory as well as 6 and 8 core cpu's as well as using less power than 2011. The only thing that makes 2011 socket attractive at this very moment intime is the r4eb.
I really wouldnt bother with anything else as a 4930/4960k is the last cpu to be designed for 2011 socket.

DDR4 is going to be very expensive at launch and very much doubt we'll see Haswell-E before 2015 so you have to be happy with what you have for another year at least. I'd rather go for a 6 core now and keep it till Broadwell-E or maybe pick up a second hand 8 core xeon later on.

Haswell e is supposed to be summer 2014.

Supposedly Q4 2014, meaning September onwards. Very much doubt we'd see it before Q1 2015 however and some slides have it as showing up in 2015.
Even not knowing this, considering Ivy-E launched this September, do you really think Haswell-E will show up in summer of 2014?
