display port cable, strange artefacts V letter looks like pixelated red stripes
something with gamma if I turned it down horrible up very hard notice tried hdmi and DVI, not looking sharp maybe after 4k my eyes not like

Hmmm...Tempted to sell 2 of my 3 24" LGs and 770 and grabbing one of these and a 970

DP setting of 1.2 should not be an issue as MC is using DVI. I had mine on either, but used DVI and it never did that.
You might want to try a DP cable, with the setting noted, if you have one and also make sure that the refresh rate and resolution is correct. I assume that your GPU is fine and the drivers updated etc...?
FWIW My LG seemed to be quite picky in regards to DVI cables, even though the one I had bought from here was fully pinned and purported to support the resolution etc.
When I tried a DP cable it was fine but I could no longer get into the BIOS screen as that was blanked out until Windows booted.

I know but you can still change that DP 1.2 setting regardless of the connection/cable type, iirc someone in the LG 34" thread also had the same issue despite using DVI-D.

Here's my 29UB65-P. Very impressed, the stand is a dream to use. It slides up and down with ease, feels like some sort of gas mechanism(?) and tilts/rotates very easily too. Little disappointed to see that despite the pictures on the overclockers shop the LG symbol is red, not white but it's not as noticeable as I thought. Loving the 21:9 aspect. I thought I'd struggle to get used to a smaller screen and a wide aspect coming from a 32" TV but there's no issue at all.
