*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I keep following news trends on the new nexus 5 gen 2 that is expected to be out november this year. Its thought to be back to the more manageable price ranges too and a smaller screen.

Decent comparison of the raw shots and the iphone 6 camera:

I bought manual camera app the other day, which seems really nice, will hopefully get some good photos later in the week.

Ordered a tempered screen protector a few days ago as I noticed a couple of bad micro scratches on my screen, no idea how they got there! Got to say though, pretty pleased with this tempered screen protector:

- the rounded edges feel nice, like the n4 display
- seems more resistant to finger prints etc. although that is probably because the oleophobic coating has worn of my n5 display
- can no longer see the micro-scratches

Which screen protector was it you bought? I was looking for a new one as my existing one is starting to bubble in a few places.

Can someone help? If I clear the data on the Google+ app (as it's taking up over 3gb of space) will this just delete the local cache, data on the phone? Or will I lose data/photos/videos that are backed up to Google+ online?

Thanks

EDIT: Nevermind, I just did it and it was fine.

Gonna try a new battery. My phone is 18 months old now, must be well over 500+ cycles.

A 1000mAh charger charges my current battery from 0 to 100% in 60 minutes. Suggests the capacity is seriously diminished. Only get 2 hours screen on time if lucky and doesn't last the day with minimal use.

I'd hate to have a completely sealed battery.

What happened to your 1.2A OEM charger?

Oh a a similar thing. I used the 1A charger to get an easier measure.

My normal charger next to my bed is the OEM charger.

Currently getting through about 3 cycles a day as I'm using it a lot.

An update on this. Phone is now giving 3.5hrs+ screen on time at maximum brightness again.

The overnight loss in charge is now a more reasonable 10% or so rather than the 40% I was getting. Phone is lasting the day again.

I estimate the old battery had lost 40% of capacity and wasn't able to hold charge very well anymore.

Old oem battery was a Sony produced one manufactured October 2013 and new battery is LG produced manufactured December 2014.

Been messing with manual camera app and raw shots over the last week and tbh, HDR+ is just as good for the majority of the shots, the only area where RAW has a massive advantage is for really dark scenarios imo but then again I am no mrk with photo editing :p

Also, I highly recommend getting that tempered screen protector, it is so nice! Feels a lot better than the N5 display + the rounded edges look pretty nice with the way the light reflects/shines on them.

This is because of Google Photos. When you delete photos, you can undelete them (i.e. there is a recycle bin). However, sometimes for whatever reason (deleting large volumes of photos in my experience) it doesn't clear this after you've exited the app. So it sits there using lots of space.
