So I went to the drone show today for the results of the Best UK Drone Photo 2016 and I walked away with second place, I'm absolutely over the moon and I got my photo printed on canvas and a Panasonic G7. Lots of photo's were taken and it's going to be published in the drone magazine too!!

It's already in here somewhere but to save finding it again here you go.
3rd place won a years sub to Airstoc's pro package which was worth around $1000. It lets you submit video and photo's to their site to sell, Much like any photo stock site but only of value if you have a commercial licence enabling you to sell your work.

Just a small update regarding the above...

After some advice, I've swapped the Emax RS2205S 2300kV's for BrotherHobby 2206 2300kv Tornado2's, and swapped the Little Bee 30A ESC BLHeli's for the Little Bee 30A ESC BLHeliS's.

So I've made a start on the build now.

Motors & ESC's mounted and wired up (have to say that it was a little tricky given the size of the quads arm lol):

Hi every one, well I never knew there was multicopter on the overclockers forum :-)
Was looking for some thing else on google and came across this.
Some nice videos and pics, not that I have read this hole thread as its a bit big :-)
Anyway Hello.

Should have been first place. Thats a lovely photo

Thank you, Everyone that has seen it has said the exact same thing funny enough.

Considering the guy in 1st place already has his own aerial photography business and the guy in 3rd place is pretty much a pro photographer having lots of his work published in magazines I think I did very well. I've only had the P3P about 6 months and have never done any photography at all till I got it :D

Russ, when I sold my S900 I broke it up and sold it for parts on Ebay. I got back more than the new cost of it.

Hi guys,

I've always wanted a drone and now that I have some spare cash, I want to buy/build one.

I am looking into these racing drones, however I have no idea where to start looking for.

I definitely want FPV with the googles.

Any tutorials, tips on what to buy/look at and so on will be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you just want to get going then can't really argue much with this

Gets expensive fast after that I am afraid

If you wanted to step up the drone

building yourself, this is a good start vid but you'll need to research your parts based on budget

This was a also a good build video

Do not forget to factor in the price of a good charger and batteries - I've easily spend £300 on this alone since starting in September. Also props. Lots of props

For a transmitter you may want to upgrade to a Taranis (£200)
Google upgrades maybe Fatshark Dominator V3 (£360 with receiver) or go mad for the HD3's (~£490 with receiver)

Also going to highly recommend this

Yes you can attach a buzzer to your flight controller but if you loose battery in the crash.....

Yeah I thought that might be the case given the S1000 is pretty specialist/niche whereas it's individual parts are more widespread.

Did you separate the motors and everything or just the A2, iOSD etc?
