Hi there

Having seen the reports on the forums of people having issues with the new MSI HD 7950 Boost Editions, we tested and were able to duplicate the issue of 100% fan speed when the GPU reaches 58c-60c as such we have removed our stock from sale as we feel this is a failure on the cards behalf.

As such anyone with one of these cards, please arrange for an RMA with our tech department if you have this issue and have not changed the diode yourself.

MSI are swapping our stock out with an updated revision, the easy way to tell if you have the updated version is that it comes in a box with Farcry3 on it, so quite easy to tell.

We expect our fresh to arrive mid-end next week and we shall make this product pre-orderable soon. :)

OcUK is not like other Etailors we do actually get to play with most of the kit we sell and evaluate it for our own reasons, so when we spotted the rumours of lots of these cards having issues and our RMA rates increasing we investigated and then found a fix for the issue.

Oh dear, msi haven't had much luck with 7950's have they :(

At least the issue has been raised and msi swift to act on it :)

Issues do rise from time to time, it's how company's deal with them. Seems OCUK & MSI are on the ball.

I have no ikssues with mine. just wondering. Would a Afterburner fan profile fix this or would it just be bypassed when the temp hits 60?

Did OCUK not test the Asus DCII cards for the DVI-D Fault then?

90% of the cards dont work with 1440p+ lol

Not an issue we've seen or had complaints on. Also unfortunately Asus are not as supportive as MSI when it comes to rectifying an issue.
Of course we don't test every single card or at every single configuration possible, but when we get a lot of reports of a potential issue then we investigate it and if we can act or force the manufacturer to take action/resolve then we will.

Not seen? I have sent 4 cards back under RMA due to the same fault!

Not seen my nackers!

Anyway OCUK and MSI are doing a great job on this :D

Yep hazro's and dgm I think it was more to do with lack of bios via dvi then flat out refusing to display though.

Have to love msi, great support.

Just curious...are you sure it is not monitor problem?

I vaguely recall some monitors' 2560 res would only work over display port or something...

Its a card problem ;)
My monitor works fine on my spare 6950 ;)

Dont want to derail this thread

Wow, I had forgotten about this. Even though this has yet to manifest with mine (I think, headphones lol) I should probably take you up on this kind offer. Good job OcUK & MSI. :)

Having same issue with non-Farcry 3 boxed version that I purchased 16 March, I thought it was just a farcry 3 software problem, and occasionally Crysis 3. RMA request sent.

Turns out they are not Farcry boxed this new batch, MSI did not get the games/sleaves in time.

We've tested them and the problem is resolved on our new stock, very quiet card indeed whilst gaming. :)
