HELP

ok, this smart shortcut app, i can't seem to get the power control widgets in there. that would be handy. any way to do this? i want to add the 'profile' and ;flight mode' to the list.

So people, what root apps are you running, thought I would write my little list for someone from the desktops thread:

AdFree, blocks almost all ads from websites and applications, great for getting rid of those obtrusive ads from free aps, sure some might complain that we're not supporting the developer but I'm not going to click the ads anyway so it's inconvenience for the sake of inconvenience.

Cachemate, allows me to clean the cache files from my phone and free up some more space on internal memory, very useful to me as I do not have a lot of memory, maybe less useful on a desire.

Root Explorer, allows you to modify your phone further by changing around system files, with this you can change pre-installed apps and which apps are installed on the system partition, it's very useful for adding features to your phone. I recently used it to add live wallpapers to my phone as they are not officially released in the FW.

Market Enabler
, neat little app that lets me peruse the markets of different countries, so if an app isn't on the Euro market I can change over to the US one if I want.

Screenshot
, allows me to take screenshots without plugging in and without constantly having the usb icons in the status bar.

Move cache
, allows me to move program caches to the sd card freeing up more space.

Wireless tether, awesome, turn your phone into a wifi hotspot, it does work well and is handy if you really want to get online on your laptop where there's no wifi.

Titanium Backup, allows me to back up any app private or otherwise, also backs up app data such as saved games etc, not had to do any restoring yet but it's nice to have the peace of mind :)

Quick boot, nice little app that allows me to quickly boot into special modes such as recovery and fast boot modes, much easier than pressing all those button combinations that I can't remember half the time.

You guys should check out Andro Web Desktop great app that lets you read/send sms through the PC browser, browse files and has a shared clipboard. Developer also has some other features in the works. I think it has great potential :)

Edit: Forgot to mention the best part, all done wirelessly :D

Only problem I've found so far is that if you send a text longer than 160 characters it breaks it up into multiple texts rather than sending it in the same way the phone would.

Just on the homescreens or altogether? You can change the homescreen icons with bettercut etc... But they will still have the same icon in the app drawer.

Awesome thanks a lot, been waiting to be able to send texts from the PC!!!

How do I get a paid for app that has now been removed from the google marketplace? The developer isn't responding to my request for a refund.

I am now getting a very odd problem with the Folderorganizer app. If i open folderorganizer all my shortcuts will break ( i.e. they will all just link to folerorganizer) until i kill the app using a task killer. After i kill it the shortcuts go to the apps they are supposed to but as soon as i open folderorganizer again they all stop working.

Labels still work fine though, its is just shortcuts

well, mine isn't working. says regging of the license failed. wtf! it shows up installed in appbrain so i try and use it.

the KB comes up but then it says ' the swype package you installed is configured for another devices and will operate with limited functionality.

nuts.

Found an amazing app for iphone converts: 'iphone keyboard emulator'
I honestly cant see what it changes about the keyboard, but i can type 100x easyier now. :D

From what the documentation says, its literally just adds an extra keyboard to the system, and it looks easy to remove and get rid off too.
I'm a little unsure about it as its technically the first 'OS modification' I've done to my phone, but still, I think it's a cracking little find for me. :)

I don't think it's that good!

HTC_IME_Mod is far far far far far better.

I don't even think Swype is /that/good compared to the IME_Mod board and I used to be a Swyper until I got the bigger screened Desire.

Can you take a screenshot if you're running a Desire?

I have Swype installed and it's based on the HTC keyboard which is awesome. Don't want to install this beta if it isn't based on the HTC keyboard.

Cheers :)

i havnt had a chance to install it yet the website was immensely slow when i tried to download it :(. I have however tried the HTC_IME_Mod keyboard and thats darn good. Has voice to text as well apparantly, however i cant seem to get that to work :( (not that i would use it much anyway :p )

*edit just brought switch pro, now thats one cool app!
